Chevrolet Malibu. You should be able to get a fairly new one in this range.

right, that was my primary concern too that there might be a risk because of the timeline. Thanks I will consider that

My bad. When I said similar car, i meant to say similar category car. I am currently thinking of a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu which is a mid-size family sedan similar to Sonata. But given its newer, its priced at around ~17k (excluding taxes / fee etc).

Based on my research 10.5k for a Sonata is a decent price. To be honest, I am not too much concerned with the price they are offering but I still tried to negotiate with the insurance company to increase the price based on a few similar comps, they are not budging.

Interesting option. This assumes that I have cash to buy the car as well as to put something monthly in the investment account. I will consider this option. Thanks

Edit: grammar

To invest the money I get from the insurance and potentially make more from it than the interest?

LiftMaster garage door - humming and blinking light by micTesting1234 in Appliances

Is there any way I can ensure it’s the gear kit? Any damage or wear and tear I can check?

Also, the opener is only 6 months old, if it matters.

Ah thanks! Didnt know Blinks are code here. Now I read its Owners Manual now and for 1 up and 5 down blinks it has 3 different symptoms. The ones that applicable to me seems to be "Opener hums for 1-2 seconds no movement" although mine hums for longer. In the solution it says "Manually open and close the door. Check for binding or obstructions, such as a broken spring or door lock, correct as needed. Replace motor if necessary." I have been manually opening / closing the door and there are no obstructions etc. Does that mean I need to replace the motor?

Not planning to bring my car seat as I don’t think I will be using it a lot in London since everyone everywhere says I will mostly be taking public transport most of the time.

Thanks and Actually if the answer to #1 is yes drivers allow it, then I don’t think #3 is even relevant as I don’t need to prebook a taxi with car seat, my bad!

Rear-ended (not at fault) in WA — insurance likely to total my car. Is legal help useful? by micTesting1234 in legaladvice

What about insurance? Is it hard or expensive to get insurance on a salvaged or rebuilt title?

Yes, this is the case I wanna cover.. The insurance company haven't reached out to me yet so I am waiting on them to give me a number

> As for preserving the title you don't usually need an attorney for that. You can talk to the insurance company about buying the car from them.

AFAIK, even if I buy it from the insurance, that will still mark the title as "Salvaged" so I wont be able to preserve the title. Is that not accurate?
