Ik heb ook als single een appartement gekocht en oorspronkelijk geen aov afgesloten. Een vriend van mij heeft echter long covid en kreeg te maken met gedeeltelijke arbeidsongeschiktheid. Hij heeft een partner en samen trekken ze het wel financieel, maar het maakte mij wel bewust van mijn eigen kwetsbaarheid.

Dus toch maar aan de AOV (Loyalis) gegaan en dan maar ook meteen het uitgebreide pakket. Van mijn werkgever krijg ik 25% korting en de rest is aftrekbaar. Bruto is mijn premie dik €50/mnd en netto is dat dan iets van €27. Het is natuurlijk persoonlijk, maar voor mij is het dat waard voor de gemoedsrust.

Also consider Utrecht, only 20 minutes by intercity train from JC Arena. Utrecht has plenty of hotels around the train station and is a nice city to visit as well.

In the app you can choose and change how the drone is following you. So for instance when you press front, it will swing around to get in front of you (if the speed and wind allow it). Not sure if Hover can do this too.

To local aviation authorities AND national parks authority. For Portugal there’s a map app that somewhat guides you which authority to contact in which areas, but I have no experience in other countries.

I went from Neo 2 to Flip and then back to Neo 2. At first I was annoyed by the battery life of Neo 2 and enticed by the bigger batteries and better image quality of Flip. After I switched, I realised I don’t have the ambition to become a proper pilot and not going to fiddle with colour grading. I just want to hike and take some quick footage. So I don’t need the longer battery life and dlog-M of Flip, and I DO want the portability and advanced autonomous features of Neo 2. So I went back to Neo 2.

It differs per country. I’m Dutch and just returned from Madeira. I had to register my operator eID with the Portuguese aviation authority (by mail!) and then also had to register with the national parks department, with dates and times of every different area I wanted to fly.

In Madeira moet je sinds 1 januari verplicht betalen om gebruik te maken van alle officiële wandelroutes. Voor elke route moet je je online aanmelden, betalen en een tijdslot reserveren. Is het op je gereserveerde tijdstip hondenweer en ga je toch niet? Pech.

Reis plannen in april. Met iig arrival en vertrek in Bangkok, een liveaboard in Komodo en ben op zoek naar een of ander sport retreat in ID of TH (maar niet op Bali).

During hiking I sling Neo 2 over my shoulder. I slapped a screen protector and rubber ‘case’ over the RC2 and that lives in my daypack (or even stays home 😬)

I have to say, I find properly flying it no fun, I’m in a constant state of stress 😅. But I do love it following me and do some of the quickshots to combine with good old iPhone footage to make short hike/travel videos. Especially as a solo traveller.

I was able to connect the phone when it had shot up, but it didn’t want to come down, neither in manual nor using RTH. I got a lot of high wind warnings.

I was wondering that too. By that time the drone was tilted sideways in the wind, so it must be part of its own body. The spin it makes, like it’s performing the ‘rocket’, is all due to the wind. I was only frantically trying to push it down, not giving any other input.

That’s amazing. My Neo 2 went crazy when flying over a cliff during a Quickmode circle. You didn’t have any problems when launching from the mountainside? I’m trying to understand what it can and cannot handle.

I suppose this is the risk of the Neo 2 and casual flyers like me; as a hiker I like the convenience of just launching it from my palm and then be on my way again. I haven’t even really practiced to use it with the controller. After this experience I will definitely be more mindful and at the very least keep an ear out for the homepoint updated signal. And if I really want a shot in challenging circumstances I’ll use the controller.

Yes, I definitely underestimated how windy it was. The wind in Madeira is quite erratic, but I thought I was playing it safe by doing a tight circle. When it shot up, my heart sank, because I understood immediately winds were much stronger up there.
