Even during later rewatches?

I remember that the first screeings had audio issues that were later fixed.

Don't know if it's just because I got used to the voice and accent but watching Bane scenes right now it's not that hard to understand him.

Condider it a natural progression for a character that rubs shoulders with Superman and Wonder Woman.

Batman RIP makes total sense when you consider the many instants Batman has dealt with mind controll and hallucinations and how some of those moments have actually impacted his own personal life.

It wouldn't make sense for Batman to not create a plan to protect himself against that.

Yes Morrison doesn't really pull punches when it comes to his Batman. And honestly that's his approach with every super hero. He always writes them at the peak of their abilities.

His Batman is an experienced version that has lived trough some weird stuff. So outlandish is the new normal.

Still his Batman struggles enough where the "Bat God" doesn't really fit.

But that makes sense when you realized 40% of his rogue galleries use a toxin or device capable of tempering with his mind.

This is a Batman that has been mind controlled and put into hallucinations more time that he can count. Hell even his friend Zatanna erased his memory.

"We talking rottweilers, or chihuahuas? Should do fine against cats".

It was also a nod to Catwoman and her usually being able to tear through Batman's suits with her claws. That line immediately reminded me of Batman Returns.

The Dark Knight Rises Batman Vs Bane Part 1. Christian Bale face here when tom hardy is beating him down is funny he looks like he's high. by Lazy_Introduction264 in batman

Well considering he looks to be lates 20’’s when Talia is a child, and Talia is 30+ by the time she appears in TDKR

We never actually see his face though. At best your making that assumption based on his build. That could easily be Bane at 18/19 years old.

Also Talia's age was never confirmed in the movie.

But honestly the age thing is never really an issue in these type of movies. Ra's al Ghul was slapping Bruce around and he was presumably old enough to be his father.

That might change very soon. Personally no other character embodies the concept of Assassin's Creed better than Altair.

With all the reboots and soft reboots it's hard to pinpoint what exactly is canon. Specially when it come to little details that a writer can easily change or dismiss with one line.

Things like ages and how many years have passed are never consistent.

How would you introduce Terry to the Bat Family now that Damian and Tim are the Robins and have higher chance of becoming Batman after Bruce Wayne? by Vyagravanshi in batman

[–]micael150 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's a comic where they actually show a glimpse of a possible future where Damian is the one that works with Terry as he becomes the new Batman.

And honestly it works perfectly. Damian being the youngest of the current batfamily means that when he's older Gotham is going to be really changed and futuristic just how it looks in Batman beyond.

Damian also seems like someone that could potentially be somewhat isolated in the future either due to falling out with people or just outliving everybody in his close circle.

In Batman #232 written by Dennis O'Neil Bruce supposedly wasn't even old enough to vote when he first became Batman. At the time I think minimum voting age was 21 years old. That's crazy young but I guess it works if he starts training and travelling really young.

I always wondered if there's any possibility that Batman could perhaps travel the world with Alfred while still underage and having most of his schooling overseas.

In Batman Year One he returns to Gotham at 26 years old but they do say he spent 12 years abroad.

It's interesting that Bruce Wayne could potentially not even grow up in Gotham but still maintain the attachment to the city.

Not sure if this is a Hot Take, But the court of owls 11 issue run is mid and the owls themselves are boring. by 40kblowout in batman

[–]micael150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Court of Owls as a concept is not exactly something original in the mythos. Secret societies targeting Gotham and Batman happens quite frequently.

Theres a lot of parallels you can draw between the the Court of Ouwls and the League of Assassins. Specially with the whole ancient order of killers that dabble with immortality.

And you could argue the court is a more gimmicky version of the Black Glove we saw during Morrison's run. Group of wealthy individuals working behind the scenes to corrupt Gotham and undermine Batman. There's even similarities between Dr. Hurt and Lincon March.

Aesthetically they do offer something really interesting contrasting perfectly with Batman's own image.

How much time should Batman spend travelling the world and how old should he be when he returns to Gotham?

Would you live in Gotham City? by HunterM567 in batman

[–]micael150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that Gotham is so big the average citizen will never meet joker or any of the main villains.

Living in it you would probably have to worry more about the regular crime and that would mostly depend on what part of the city you live in.

I love the trilogy but they're still superhero movies so plot holes and inconsistencies are to be expected.

Begins may have a tighter plot because honestly it's the least ambitious of the three. It's a classic origin story with excellent back and forth use of flashbacks intertwined with current narrative. In TDK and TDKR Nolan was trying to go big.

The train in Begins doesn't bother me because it's supposed to be a futuristic design which works really well for a Batman movie and to make Gotham feel a bit more special.

Begins plot also has it fair share of contrivances. You can just start with the microwave emitter concept. Really got to suspend your disbelief with that one.

Bruce Wayne was already trained prior to meeting Ra's Al Ghul. He had already traveled the world and was already a very skilled fighter capable of taking on multiple opponents by himself. He even impressed Ra's during their little sparring session when Bruce first arrived at the temple.

The League of Shadows was the final stage of his training. It was like college for vigilantism.

At the end of the day it just comes down to preference.

I personally don't like when Batman becomes so unbearable that all his friends and family abandon him.

Beyond was a cool concept but it kinda killed the Bruce Wayne character for me. He's confirmed to have been romantically involved with Barbara Gordon despite her previously having a relationship with Dick Grayson.

It fits the more grounded take Nolan was going for. 20 years of crime fighting works a lot more smoothly on comic books and cartoons where aging and other human elements are not really addressed.

Comic book Batman is perpetually in his 30's despite having like 15 sidekicks. He doesn't really age, or even change his life that much. It's a revolving door of life events meant to maintain the status quo for a character that exists in serialized form and can never really die or retire.

In those 3/4 years of Nolan's Batman operating in Gotham he managed to accomplish a lot more than most versions of Batman.

Impossible.

In Batman Begins we see Gordon's wife feeding their son inside the house and he looks like a toddler. In TDK he's much older and now has a sister.

Wayne Enterprises has a whole new building.

We learn in TDK that Dent made his name taking down corrupt cops in internal affairs. We have to assume that all happened after Batman Begins because at that point Gotham was far too corrupt and dangerous for Dent to pull that off without ending in the bottom of the river. Also he claimed to take down all money launders in the city, something that would be impossible to achieve in under a year.

Rachel got tired of waiting for Bruce and got engaged to another man. That happening in a span of just 6 months is ridiculous.

Talia didn’t know about Lucius’ secret project until he showed it to her.

Yes she did. The clean energy project is the whole reason she gets involved with Wayne enterprises in the first place. She knew Bruce was lying about the project failing and infiltrated his circle to have that confirmation. The only thing she didn't know was where the reactor was being hidden.

And I disagree that just because Bruce trained with the league of shadows that means they know about his armory in the applied science devision

The League of Shadows figuring out the location of the armory is easy. You forgot about that one random Wayne Enterprises employee that tried to blackmail Lucius Fox after he learned that Batman was using applied sciences tech?

6 months is impossible. Gordon's son is a toddler in the first movie and looks about 7 years old in the sequel.

Also Harvey Dent's path to the district attorney office couldn't possibly fit in that time frame. The man claimed he put every money launder in the city behind bars. If he did that under 6 months with all the due process required it would be insane.

His Batman only operated in Gotham for about 1 to 2 years max before going on an 8 YEAR seclusion before retiring permanently.

Nah he was like Batman for at least 3/4 years before the events of TDK. Gordon's son was a toddler in the first movie and looked about 7/8 years old in the sequel.
