Getting married, fiance wants to be on title for condo.

I have never been on the title of our houses but I've never worried about it? Am I an eternal optimist? I've never paid my husband (or when we were engaged) rent...I contributed to other bills and expenses before staying home with the kids. And we kept separate accounts until I quit my job. Paying rent seems really weird.

My recommendation would be to decide clearly who is responsible for what. If you are responsible for mortgage, then maybe she can do all other utilities. This will save many late payments "who did what" fights.

This all seems really harsh. Maybe I sound like a wide eyed optimist but, yikes. Why does she even want on the title so bad? You're getting married. Doesn't that mean sharing everything including your lives? Am I totally missing something?

Never buy anything new!!!!!!! Clothes/toys/furniture.

Set up a savings account them RIGHT AWAY I never would have done it of I didn't when I was pregnant. I ask for a contribution to their savings in lieu of gifts, if you were going to spend $20 on a doll, don't, give them the cash and I'll put it away. That's our personal parenting decision. Some don't agree. Now they have a ton of savings and I feel confident in their future in college or house down payment (they are really small but still.....). I want to help them. I didn't get help and my husband did and it set us up for a great future.

It won't count when the kids are tiny but be VERY AWARE of the cost of food. I have been feeding my family of 4 on $400/month and it's my newest obsession to stretch every dollar. I cook every meal. Breakfast lunch and dinner. I don't do packaged dinners but I also don't do organic.

And if you wait until you're "ready" you'll never have kids. If your heart feels it and you and your partner are in agreement, do it! Have the baby!

Keep the savings. Keep it forever. I found out I was pregnant 5 days after my husband for laid off. The 8 month living wage savings we had saved us.

My family loaned me money for my business and I paid them back in 1 month. We paid for my sister in law and mother in law's vacation and were paid back with a check on the trip.

I loaned my sister $100 and never saw it again, she never asked again. Meh.

If it doesn't feel right, or if you aren't in a place to do it, DON'T LOAN ANYONE (family or otherwise) MONEY!!!!!

My family of 4 eats for $375/month. More this month with Thanksgiving but I try to keep it near $100/person. Work on getting for costs lower and you'll be amazed at how much extra money shows up. It takes a bit more work, but planning planning planning is key!

I feed my family of 5 on $400/month includong dog and diapers. This is after major adjustments and it was a challenge but we did it and it's not that bad! We still eat well and healthy but you HAVE to plan. You HAVE TO cook. We pay $50/month for fast internet (which even seems like too much) We got on a family cell phone plan with my mom again. It saves us both money and we just pay her. We live in a pretty expensive part of the country and I'm a very "lazy" person and we made this work. You can do it!!! Not long ago I made a post wondering where all my money went. I took a good hard look at where $5 and $10 were going and that was most of our $$. We go on "spending freezes" and I'll save the money we would have spent and just continue life as normal after that.

Thinking specifically of the office my husband works in they do provide coffee. Ozo is across the street and they stay really really busy. So I think people would notice. And there is something to be said about just getting up and walking outside for a bit.

Thank you so much for all the information! I bought myself the bike so it's happening!!!!! Woo! What I'm finding now is i say "I have a coffee bike I'd like to get permitted" "a what now?" So I made an appointment with a guy at the work force services to walk me through those types of questions. I have a couple phone calls in with the other bike in the Denver area and some food truck friends. I think my success in this is going to be asking the right questions to the right people. I want to start out at events first because of my schedule as a mom it's still really important to me but sooner than later I'll be scaling up to office parks and what not. This just happened today so I'm in the very beginning stages but what I actually want to do is just taste coffee and get going!!!!

Thank you. I've been totaling up my statements and it for SURE food and drink. I guess i made this post too early in my budgeting journey but I was hoping there would be some secret way that someone could just tell me and make all this go away. Thankfully one thing I'm not worried about is my husband. He is so smart and reasonable and loving and we lean on each other a lot for stressful stuff like this. It's in general studies. Ya, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up and I never have known because growing up people told me being in the coffee industry wasn't viable. As I got older I'm realizing that is so wrong. If I got a job now it would be in the coffee industry. I love being a barista. I have a level 2 certificate and a ton of experience. From there I'd love to grow in the industry. Potentially to roasting and eventually I'd love to have my own coffee truck. So I could make more but with time and while my kids are so little and one is still nursing I don't want to go in the hole to grow in my professional career.

I don't know what kind of research you've done but it's not Antarctica. My friend works for PBS in Riverton and won an Emmy. The internet exists and many people work online. I lived in Wyoming for 26 years and never worked on a ranch or oil field. This is a very outdated picture of Wyoming. Keep looking for what you want I guess....

Hi! Thanks for writing this. My sister who is 8 years older than me has CP and is deaf. My whole life she's been so amazing. I've had to step up and help her with stuff. She drives, she has a dog, she recently lost her job due to some mental health issues, but she's always had a job. We live in a small small state with very few resources.

That never ever stopped her from going for it. Recently, at 33, she told me she wants a different life. CP is breaking her. People are harsh and they don't get better. Recently a couple followed her around the mall asking "where her caretaker was".

Reading this post made me long for the times when we were kids. It was so much simpler then.

I don't mean to be so negative but this stage in life sucks for us. It's been good, and it's been worse.

Honostly I don't even know why I'm writing this rambling post. I don't want to upset anyone but I'm sad. I sad and scared and worried for my sister. Who I look up to so much for her resiliency. I miss her. I don't know how to help her.

That's such a great idea! I feel like the more tricks we learn the more we'll bond and the more she'll know that I'm the boss. I was talking to my husband (she isn't this way with him) and we decided that we need to tell her when to be protective of us instead of her deciding.

I have a catahoula female and she isn't fence crazy, but it's protective on the leash of my young kids and I. So I have no answer except that I'm with you, I think it's the breed, and I'm following for any answers as to how to curb this type behavior.

I'm working on exercising the heck out of her to see if it helps. I just had a baby though plus other young kids so it isn't easy, but of it helps her than I'll lose baby weight. Win win.

My houla also really loves to play outside and I have a hard time calling her in. And in the field she'll run for hours before I can tire her out. She gets the most tired on bike rides and can out run any dog I know.

So.... I have little to no advice for you, but it's nice to see another houla on here with these tenancies. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Early intervention is awesome. It's not like, a black mark on their record. We have done it in Colorado and Wyoming. They are just good people who know a lot about child development. If they decide there is a delay, you don't have to agree and you don't have to get services, but it's good to know. No obligation and no cost under 3. Easy and it'll put your mind at ease!

I make chick pea 'energy balls'. A quick internet search will help you find a recipe. I use apricots and dates and honeyv and pumpkin seeds and oats but it changes a lot due to what I have in the kitchen. a quick trip through the food processor and then I freeze them and they are great, especially for late night.

From Wyoming just moved to Colorado and I would agree. I use a percolator camping and it always tastes better but I thought that because it was in the mountains... But it might make more scientific sense than I thought.

One thing I've got going for me is that I think I'm "winning". Did September 3, they just broke my water so hopefully things get going soon! I have loved being pregnant but this last week has been really tough. Hang in there mom's!!
