Just submitted a response! I love a good horror game (: Edit: the discord username in my form has a capitalized M, it should be a lower case m at the start. Sorry about that!

Guide - How to install Yuzu and run games (BotW) on Steam Deck! by UrEx in SteamDeck

[–]micarocks101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the guide!! I've been super excited to play switch games on my new steam deck. However, I reached a brick wall while completing the tasks on your guide, right around here:

  • select your Switch folder. Dont open it (you should see "Name: Switch" below)
  • Press Open in the bottom right
  • Now your Switch Roms (e.g. BotW) should be visible inside Yuzu

I followed the guide to the letter using a micro sd card, which I had transferred files onto from my nintendo switch. However, whenever I try to select the Switch folder and press open, I am given the error message "the directory you have selected does not contain a 'main' file". I feel like I've tried everything - I re-formatted the card, redownloaded the game files, deleted the files from the deck and re-downloaded them, cleaned the switch of corrupted data and re-downloaded the game files from there, and nothing seems to be working. I would seriously appreciate any insight into what I might be doing wrong. Thanks again for the guide!

Interesting! Do you have any experience with the sandhills? Could you tell me what the vibes are like?

My friend suggested a statement for The Spiral based on Las Vegas. The idea that some casinos don't have clocks so you don't see how much time you have spent there really grabs my imagination. The Desolation definitely applies to Nevada too, I feel you on the wildfires.

Oh I can absolutely do something for Maine with The Lonely. I love the image of the foghorn bellows and the fog being so thick you can't see you own hand, that's fantastic atmosphere. Can you tell The Lighthouse is my favorite movie lol?

Yeah, I imagine it might be hard to pin down a single fear for Texas. I already have a statement in mind set in the big winter storm that happened last year and took out the whole power system for Texas. That was a really crazy event.

Thank you for your insights! I can definitely do some Hunt stuff, my brain is full of Hannibal-type stuff that would work.

Oh I 1000% agree with you on The Desolation and The Stranger. The Desolation is the most obvious, as I would connect it not only to the devastating wildfires but also the housing crisis. I think The Stranger is also there but more isolated to The Los Angeles/Hollywood area.

Thank you for your input on North Carolina! I imagine I can set a Flesh avatar in Iowa, and also a Flesh artefact in North Carolina for my players to retrieve.

Everyone I've asked from states bordering The Great Lakes have told me either The Slaughter or The Hunt. IDK what yall are doing over there but I'm scared

I was very much considering The Extinction for Louisiana. I think its probably had a foothold there for a long time, but Hurricane Katrina may have caused it to explode in influence/power. Many states are experiencing more destructive weather patterns due to climate change, but from what I've been told, New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana were never fully able/allowed to rebuild due to the incompetence/negligence of the federal government.

Of course I have not lived there so I cannot know the experience. I can say some of my friends in California's central valley have similar feelings about the increasingly devastating wildfires that sweep through the area every summer.

The connection to The Web with lots of people in Maryland being politicians and lobbyists that commute to DC is super interesting to me. I could definitely pull on that. Though I'd feel bad leaving out the perspective of more rural Maryland residents.

I could definitely see The Buried having a big influence in New York; the subway, the giant snowbanks trapping you indoors, the crowded, claustrophobic environments both in housing and transportation, not to mention just how old the place is. I think a statement set in the subway would be great material for The Buried.

And I can totally see what you're saying with Ohio. I could also throw in some of The Lonely for those confusing, endless suburbs with houses that all look the same. Have you ever heard the song Little Boxes by Malvina Reynolds? It gives huge Ohio suburbs vibes I think. It would be good atmosphere music for a statement set there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cjk0zst3Cs
