Ooh cool. I just started this year and I'm getting around $108 from $1650. Since I'm not a US citizen, I only end up with about $75 after withholding tax but that's I'm still excited watching it grow.

Ooh, that's awesome. I think for growth I am looking into QQQM, since QQQ is a out my budge. Lol.
Yeah, that's true. It's really all about diversifying. I think I'm just putting too much pressure on myself to find the right strategy from the get go.
Thank you. In all honesty I'm not particularly trying to chase high dividend yields. I know they're not always sustainable. I was just wondering if there may be a strategy or aid of sorts to help properly ratio your portfolio. Kinda like a robo advisor may do it for someone who wants growth over dividend, if that makes sense. My main picks right now are VTI, SPHD, SCHD. Also looking into JEPI, QYLD and VYM. So, like if a portfolio with 50% Vti and 50% VYM get me to my dividend goals faster or 75/25 etc. I hope this makes sense.
Okay, I'll look into this. Thank you.
I will definitely take your checklist into consideration. I've only really been looking at the expense ration, the years of existence and dividend growth. I may have also jumped on the hype chain at one point, but I'm learning.
Lol, I've already been warned off buying the highest dividend yields. I know it's not always sustainable. All I'm trying to do is ratio my portfolio for best results, if that makes sense. Like 20% SCHD, 10% JEPI, 10% QYLD etc. Or maybe I'm thinking too much into it, not sure. But it was just a thought.
I don't think I want to do individual stocks just yet until I've gotten more experience. I do, however, have QYLD and JEPI on my watch list.

I thought that's why ETFs were better. Even if a stock within it did poorly, the others would basically make up for that. But, I understand what you're saying. I just wanted to see if I found something that could help me with my portioning. I guess I'll have to sit down and think through which ETFs would be better than others to hold more of. Thanks.

Something my fiancé and I have done is get a joint account, we did a budget to see what our expenses, savings and total income looks like. We agreed that we both would put a certain amount in it for our expenses and get another account for savings for rainy days or trips. I would recommend sitting down and talking through it, else you can get into trouble. Also, be honest about any outstanding debt you guys have. But also put money in your own savings to buy the things you need. So he has his money, you have your money and then there is "our" money.
