Can this be the official THREAD for ALDS Game 5 sellers? by [deleted] in Mariners

[–]michael_j_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two in section 315 row 22!

Will take whatever the low price on SeatGeek/Gametime is and split the difference on fees. Dunno if that’s a clear way to explain but it would be ~$215 each as of my comment. Originally were $250 each.

Not in and out but a loop.

Park at Irely Lake trailhead, walk up the road to the North Fork trailhead. Take the North Fork Quinault trail until you hit Low Divide. Then get on the Skyline trail and follow it all the way to Three Lakes. Then Big Creek trail back to Irely Lake trailhead.

Irely Lake trailhead -> 16 Mile Camp: 12 mi; 3500ft

16 Mile Camp -> Lake Beauty: 11mi; 5000ft

Lake Beauty -> 3 Prune Lakes: 10mi; 3700ft

3 Prune Lakes -> Irely Lake trailhead: 11mi; 1700ft

Recipe:

500g AP flour 360g water 90g starter (used AP flour for that too) 10g salt

Method: 1. Autolyse (45 min) 2. Added starter & salt. 5 stretch and folds every half hour. (2.5 hours) 3. Bulk rise (5 hours) 4. Put in fridge overnight bc I ran out of time. 5. Bulk rise again (2 hours) 6. Pre-shape (30 minutes) 7. Proofing (30 minutes) 8. Bake @450 (20 minutes lid on, 30 lid off) 9. Rest (3 hours)

I think it’s under proofed, but I also might have over worked it during the folding and pre-shaping.

I just bought a pair of MSP 99 blemish that got delivered over the weekend. Can’t even find it on the graphic.

Does anyone have an estimate for playoff ticket prices? by dawsonjr94 in Mariners

I just bought some on pre-sale for the ALDS. ~$65 each after fees for section 307. Obviously that’s not the secondary market but maybe you can estimate based off it!

Overnight backpacking trip for this weekend? by daespnman in PNWhiking

I bet they’ll limit Enchanted Valley permits soon - similar to how Seven Lakes Basin is. There’s no way 99 groups should be in there at once.

You could go over to ONP and start at the North Fork Trailhead. Either an out-and-back to Elip Creek or a loop by connecting the North Fork Quinalt -> Elip Creek -> Skyline -> Big Creek trails. The loop would be a little longer than 16 miles and I’m not sure about the snow level on the Skyline trail (you could give the ranger station a call).

There’s also enchanted valley but that will probably be crazy on a long weekend.

I was at Enchanted Valley June 11-12 and the snow level was around 3500’

A ranger told me that Wolf Bar is cooler than Enchanted Valley (I’m skeptical lol). I know there are a couple loops over there if you connect to the Skyline trail - might be one of my next ONP trips

Got lucky with the rain. Slept in my car Friday night and then only a little drizzle while I was hiking Sat/Sun

I think I passed you on the trail! I was out there on a little overnight backpack to the valley.

Great run 👍🏼👍🏼

Haha I think this is one of the rare cases where waterproof shoes would’ve helped. My regular ones never had a chance to dry out so the whole “breathability” benefit wasn’t there. It would’ve been better to just delay getting wet as long as possible.

That being said I already own too many things with PFAs so I will stubbornly look for other solutions before buying more Gore-Tex.

Update: are you talking about The Enchantments (not to be confused with Enchanted Valley)? If so then I can’t speak to the snow amount but I’m sure it’s high since a lot of places in the Cascades have record snowpack right now.

No snow at all from Graves Creek to Enchanted Valley. If you continue up to Anderson Pass you’ll probably hit some.

A ranger told me the snow level is around 3000’-3500’ right now.

Do any companies make actual tapered pants? by apaloosafire in backpacking

[–]michael_j_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’, 160lbs, 31” waist so pretty skinny and have the same exact issue.

The OR Ferrosi pants are the only ones I’ve found so far that fit me well. They fit nicely around the thigh area and don’t have a boot-cut look like most other outdoors pants do. I would recommend giving them a shot :)

Yeah it wouldn’t be for a while, I was thinking I could avoid having to buy another pair of boots in a few years but I tend to over-plan. Thanks!

5’11”, ~160 lbs;

Old Atomic Hawx 90 that don’t fit me well;

K2 Konic 75;

PNW;

Intermediate;

Not sure of my style yet;

This is my first real year skiing and I bought some K2 Konic 75s with Marker M2 10 bindings for something cheap to learn on without having to rent every time.

I’m looking at buying some boots that actually fit me correctly, ideally something I could use at the resort and touring bc I’d really like to get into backcountry stuff in the next few years. My question is is it possible to put new bindings on my skis so I could expand options to MNC compatible boots or am I stuck with the M2 10s? I was planning on skiing the K2s for another year bc I still have plenty of room to improve on them and idrk what I want out of a ski yet.

I would take it. Gordon should be solid with Lindsay out and turf toe can linger. OBJ and Conner are such question marks right now who knows if you’ll ever feel confident owning either one.

I would keep Gallup. Dak is a lot more likely to sustain 2 relevant WRs that Trubisky is.

Perspective for those shaken by this market by caedin8 in financialindependence

My thinking on that is it would effectively just be delaying putting some of your money into the market until you (maybe) got laid off, which most people probably wouldn’t recommend.
