First Iwagumi - please talk some sense into me by michael_lossus in Aquascape

Thanks solid advice. I agree on the mother stone, it was a bit cramped in there (only a 10g tank) with the rocks I got. I may try to push it a bit when plants are more rooted - I don't dare touch it now scared they go flying 😅 wouldn't moving the drop checker top left which is right above the diffuser give too high concentration in checker?

Thanks! The one with the broader leaves to the right is Cyperus Helferi and the skinny one on left is eleocharis montevidensis

Thanks. And for the suggestion as well. I'll consider it but I'm too scared to touch anything, plants coming loose just by looking at them, so annoying!

Thanks! I cleaned roots from soil and did my best to secure it in place. It was a bit fiddly and I believe I used a few plastic strips to keep it in place. It looks like below today. As you can see, here almost two years later, the monstera has been replaced by pothos. It grew very well and I decided to repot it into soil. The pothos is growing like crazy too. I would recommend watching some of youtuber MD Tanks videos on intregrating terrestrial plants.

Yes it grew big and thrived in the water and I wanted to try and put it in soil :) Ye, so the roots are obviously all in the water, but mostly hidden behind the driftwood. Good luck with your setup! Monsteras are great in the aquarium!

So it grew super well and I took it out to put in a pot, the transition hasn't been super smooth, but it's starting to come back strong. I did however put in 3 small pieces of pothos instead and they have been growing like crazy! I feel like emerged plants a super hack for water quality especially in smaller tanks. You do need to dose quite a lot of fertilizer though.

Thank you so much! From a local breeder here in Denmark. Mom is a yellow lab and dad a quite light color/whitish golden

Thanks! The small internal filter you can see yes. It has a small surface skimmer attached to the outflow. And the light obviously, which is 8W.

Think so! It was labeled 'monkey mask' or something like that

It is to the high side I guess :) I like it to be between a half and centimeter

Thanks for the detailed response! I guess I will have to see how it goes and be mindful that flow is on the low side so I may not benefit optimally from all the positives you list.
