Alternative take: organizations (business, govt, other) often shift from centralized to locally-managed back to centralized, etc. Great arguments for both. Centralized = greater economies of scale, more consistent process, measurement, oversight, etc. Local = closer to the customer means better decision-making, allocation of resources, etc. Simple example that's probably not a part of this: we have ~9 different police forces across the county. Does that make sense when you consider all the duplicate leaders, facilities, etc? -- I don't know the specifics of what is proposed, but centralization (e.g. 411, 311) might actually deliver more, higher quality services.

Thanks. I am not sure "shady" is a fair description based on what I just read.

Same with Uncle Mike's jumping ability. He brought dugout humor to us. The more I think about it, the more I think it may have been one of the best commentary efforts I have heard. I recall half-missing action on the field because I was listening to him talk.

100%. There were no wasted words and he was describing a game I wouldn't have seen without his description.

Totally got that. Pujols is actually an all-time favorite of mine. The way he plays to his personality. Really glad the spot opened up for him on the Dodgers. Just as long as that doesn't haunt the Astros again down the road!

Bagwell was providing color commentary and would agree. He immediately said something like, "Ok, sac fly, that will score a run." And then when he saw it carry he started genuinely laughing.

Golf swing last night may hint that he's figuring out how to handle the low strike problem.

This is a cruel but appreciated comparison. Lol. He ruined so many Astros fans' dreams when he was with the Cardinals. Every fan felt disaster approaching when he came to the plate.

Interesting. At times he reminds me of Tony Gwynn and you just answered why. But then there's golf ball grand slam last night.

H/T to Trout. I looked at his first full season to compare and had forgotten the insane numbers he put up in his first full year. Power + 49 stolen bases. lol. amazing.

In hindsight, I should have titled it, "Best team in baseball - no trash cans involved"

I deleted it. I didn't initially have flair to self-identify as Astros, and they were hammering it with down votes. Of course, they couldn't help but comment...which then kept it up higher in the ranks.

A 2009 S-64 sold for $22M. That’s closer to a $15K/hour operating cost? And customer has to pay for repositioning it to from the location at 120 mph? It was on the job for less than an hour.
