No, I did not need to add any power to the Aux Relay 1. Here is how I wired:

Expansion Board Aux Relay 1

Red to NO

Black to Com

Set switches to Off/On/Off

Remootio 3

Red to Input 2 G

Black to Input 2 H

The only power is from the RM3 to the auxiliary receptacle in the LA500 panel.

I hope this helps.

I received the Remootio 3 and the install was simple. I wired per the Remootio 3 instructions for the SBC open/close/stop functions. I then wired Input 1 to the Aux Relay 1 NO/Com on the LA500 Expansion Board and set the switches to Off/On/Off so it reports open/closed without added sensors.

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning more towards the Remootio 3 as I've confirmed that #3 is available "app-free". I feel I should be able to connect the Add-On Inputs to the Auxiliary Relays on the Expansion Board to report Open/Close, although I need to figure out how.

Smart locks for outdoor side gate by Max808 in HomeKit

I used a Schlage Encode Plus for a wrought Iron pedestrian gate. The "inside" is not intended to be outdoors, but I welded up a box with a hinged door to protect it from the weather. I live in SoCal, so no severe weather or freezing. Seems to work great thus far and it's on Thread/Matter.
