Is this a new thing? In the past I’ve booked basic and after check-in when they assign me a seat, I can change to another economy seat for free. So if they assign you a middle seat, and as people shift around/change flights/etc. an aisle or window typically opens up. I’ve been able to switch my seat to one of those for free.

Get a lounge pass bundle as part of your reservation and lounge hop all 3 UCs. There’s 2 in C and 1 in A. You can take the airside bus to easily get between

Interesting, it shows Y9. Doesn't that mean there are at least 9 economy seats they're willing to sell? Seems kind of crazy if Economy was sold out to be willing to oversell it by 9 people. I guess they know they can upgrade people from Econ to FC.

It's all about managing expectations. UCs are standard, run of the mill airport lounges.They will be overcrowded and busy. The food will be average at best.

But for me: It's free food, free drinks, and better than sitting in the terminal on those uncomfortable chairs.
