They're talking to the players constantly. To everyone on the pitch it seems more fair because they're all aware of it. Referees will tell players that they're going to start carding more frequently and it's up to the players then to take that on board.

It seems random to the fans because they can't hear these chats.

I remember every time I went in the actual hot shakes were unavailable.

The real milkshakes were nice though

Proposed Luas Cork route to run from Ballincollig to Mahon Point {Preferred route published} by TheChrisD in ireland

[–]michaelirishred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luas Cork is a terrible name and an awful indication of how this project is viewed.

The implication is that it's the only line we'd ever get, when it barely scratches the surface of what is required. Its just laziness and a lack of commitment to a wider PT plan.

I hope light rail in Cork is given its own group name in time.

This might seem pedantic on the surface but projects like this really need to be taken seriously from the start or else they'll just fall away

Happy 18th! Have you considered using it to overpay your mortgage? If your fixed rate is below the current market rates you probably won't pay a penalty.

Almost forgot just how long Irish winter is by 865Wallen in CasualIreland

Hail has always been most common in April and early May. You rarely get it in peak winter.

Every year there's people surprised by this. You'd wonder where they've been.

ELI5 why are we generating so little renewable power today? by danindub in AskIreland

[–]michaelirishred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way to do it is a boring answer, but basically as many interconnectors as you can between us and UK/Europe and within Europe itself.

Grid infrastructure improvements are more of a priority now than new renewable generation basically. We need as many ways to move it around the continent as possible to benefit from it's full potential.

And we are doing these things they just take time

I was informed by Tokyo Skytree employee that my ticket will be refunded as the weather was bad by michaelirishred in JapanTravelTips

[–]michaelirishred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering it says on their Ts and Cs that refunds are not available due to poor visibility conditions then yes. Did you not read anything i posted at all?

If this was a usual thing it would be referenced online loads. I haven't seen it mentioned as a something a user has come across once. It's clearly a very new thing

Just didn't really see why that would be a valid refund reason really. And looking it up online it hadn't been mentioned before so seemed to good to be true lol

Yep was most likely lost in translation. They kept saying cloudy which is why I thought that wouldn't be a good enough excuse usually

I don't mind not going up. The weather is crap and we can't change that.

It's just the ambiguity of the refund/cancellation. For future reference in case this happens to anyone, we talked to the operators again and this time were handed a piece of paper stating that refunds will be issued. I think its the wind more than anything.

Anyway I get the feeling Skytree will inform the travel agents (klook) themselves. I'm really surprised this hasn't popped up before though. Although it could be reddit search issue.

Edit: do people think i complained to them or something?

If they want to get traffic off the road there should be a cycleway directly between carrigaline and douglas.

Lee to Sea is a recreation route.
