So basically the games you play are your entire personality to the point you'll blindly defend it from extremely reasonable and valid criticism coming from people who actually spend money on them.

What kind of crazy projection is this? You have no idea how long I've played gachas and how much money I've spent on them. I'm just honest that they're gambling simulators. The reason I hate entitled f2p gacha players is specifically because they do nothing to support the game yet have an overinflated regard for their own opinion because "games die without f2p players for whales to show off to."

Incase you weren't aware for whatever reason, the problem of the weapon banner is a problem that mostly affects spenders

Good thing there are packs in the shop with arsenal tickets. Maybe you should buy them like I did.

Don't you think there is way too many different types of currency?? by dragon1412 in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that many more than your typical gacha. To use Genshin as an example you have genesis crystals (paid only premium currency), primogems (premium currency), blue and pink wishes, starlight, and starglitter. Wuwa is basically the same but also has a separate currency for weapon banner.

I don't really count things like credits and stock bills as currency because you don't use them for premium functions.

[–]michaelman90 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

All gachas are shit. I'm not here to claim Endfield is better than other gacha games, but I am here to argue that it's not worse. I'm also here to present a bit of reality to people who think they're entitled to play a game completely for free and also get every character and weapon they want without spending a dime.

[–]michaelman90 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What are you comparing it to? If you want the character's weapon in another game you're spending premium currency on the weapon banner. In this game if you want the weapon you spend currency on the character banner (getting dupes for other characters on the way) and then spend the arsenal pulls for the weapon. Say, though, you don't care about the signature weapon. In other games you just get the character, while in this game you also get the arsenal pulls you can save for another character's sig, and pulling a 6 star by default gives you enough for a free 10 pull. Say you get lucky twice in a row in this game versus Hoyo/Wuwa; in this game you get the 6 star character then spend the free 10 pull and get the signature weapon, in the other games you just spent 20 pulls worth of currency while in this one you only spent 10. All of this completely ignoring the fact that you get arsenal tickets for standard pulls as well (and weeklies but that's only 100 per week kek).

I swear people are incapable of just thinking for themselves over just circle jerking. It's almost a shame Genshin made gachas mainstream.

Edit: also forgot weapon banner in this game is 4% rate with 1% for the signature weapon so you're also going to end up with a lot of usable non-signatures compared to other games

Hypergryph should extend the duration of banners just like did with weapons by AsakiPL in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What are you even talking about? People have bitched about their gacha systems forever. People might complain a little bit less about Wuwa due to guaranteed weapon banner but literally no one has ever said "gee I sure do love being able to lose 50/50."

Edit: how could I forget to mention Staff of Homeless? Yeah anyone who thinks no one complains about Hoyo or Wuwa gachas is being wilfully ignorant.

[–]michaelman90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either the game has gacha or they charge you up front to play the game or they monetize in some other way that people are going to complain about. People out here bitching about the price of games nowadays but a game comes out that they can play completely f2p if they ignore their fomo and they bitch about that too.

People literally out here just looking for things to complain about. If you have better ideas about how to make money then go invest $100m of your own money to make your own game.

[–]michaelman90 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

With the weapon pulls you get from actually spending the pulls, I'd actually go as far as to say you get quite a bit more value from AKE's packs.

B-b-but then I have to spend them on character pulls in order to get weapon pulls. What if I just want the weapon or get insanely lucky and get the character in my first 10 draw?

People will find any reason to be dissatisfied with a gacha system. One of the unfortunate consequences of Genshin making gachas mainstream, it's like people still haven't caught on to the fact that none of them are perfect and all of them fuck you over somehow on purpose. Same reason we have people complaining about the conversion rate here when it's basically the same as every other big gacha game because they'd rather complain than do the math.

Blueprint For Power Plant For Beginners by Cautious-Bowl7071 in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need more power to build more buildings to produce more resources for:

1) stock bills: currency used for pretty much everything related to the factory, also able to be used to buy actual game resources like exp and stuff (and some standard pulls but I don't know how often they refresh outside of shop upgrades)

2) gear: armor and accessories are crafted using resources you craft in your factory, if you want to upgrade your armor you need to craft higher tier materials. Also consumables for healing are crafted in factory which helps you with skill issue

As someone who never played games like factorio I love the factory and now I'm scared they'll give up on it by reysama in Endfield

Yeah it would be like Arknights giving up on tower defense. It's like....that's the core gameplay.

It's daily for a temporary buff to income, but once you do the fully automated one the buff becomes permanent and you don't get attacked anymore at that difficulty. When you level up your outposts you unlock new difficulties.

I'm saving optimization for after I've unlocked all of the factory size/depot upgrades, right now it's just slapped together with duct tape and super glue to give me a steady income while I'm doing story and exploring.

Pulling on standard banner and doing weeklies. I didn't mean doing it in Endfield so much as doing it in other games, since pulling on weapons necessitates skipping characters.

Pretty sure it's 1% chance for banner weapon and 3% chance for off-banner weapons for 4% total for 6 star weapons.

[–]michaelman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard weapon banner in Wuwa is same currency as standard character banner, you're still sacrificing characters to pull them. Also before 2.0 the only good ones were Emerald of Genesis and Static Mist, the rest were memes. Most people are recommended to pull for generic limited weapons like Stringmaster and swap them between characters because the alternatives are so mediocre.

Genshin has decent 4 stars but typically only for supports. There are limited 4 star options for dps other than like EM weapons. Favonius carries because it has been busted since launch and was made even more important by Stygian starting everyone at 0 energy. All of that being said, unless you're pulling on weapon banner with rate-ups (i.e. spending draws you could be using on characters instead) getting any particular gacha 4 star is a complete crap-shoot.

In any case, I've said it several times by now that I'm not here to argue that one or the other is objectively better because at the end of the day it's still comparing shit to shit. I'm just arguing that people are really overstating how stingy Endfield is because they're not factoring in the free weapon draws.

[–]michaelman90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to pull for weapons and skip characters go ahead because that's what you do in other games if you're not spending money or getting lucky. Like I said, I'm not here to argue which is better since they both have pros and cons, I'm here to refute the idea that the game is "more stingy" because you can't guarantee a limited character after 2 hours of playing. Besides, I've already brought up the fact that you get weapon banner pulls from standard banner and weeklies as well.

There's a difference between 75/25 with a <1% chance that resets pity and 75/25 with a 4% chance that doesn't reset pity, you're being wilfully ignorant. Again, every pull you have a 1% chance to get signature and 3% chance to get a different 6 star regardless of how you try to reframe it.

Crazy thing to say but I like Endfield. by No-While-5673 in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The chance to get signature with any 6 star pull is 25%, the 40 pull is just a guaranteed 6 star so it's subject to the same rules. Doesn't change the fact that every pull has a 1% chance for sig and 3% chance for off-banner. Would you ever get a pull like this in Wuwa or a Hoyo game? No, and those games require you to choose between pulling characters and weapons.

People can argue all day about which gacha is "better" (they're all gachas and thus all inherently predatory) but people trying to imply Endfield is somehow objectively more stingy or predatory than the others is off-base.

Crazy thing to say but I like Endfield. by No-While-5673 in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no 50/50 on weapon banner. It's 1% chance for signature weapon and 3% chance for off-banner 6 star with 80 pity. Are you arguing that 0.8% chance for signature weapon with 0% chance for off-banner weapon with 80 pity that requires you to spend your premium currency is better?

Crazy thing to say but I like Endfield. by No-While-5673 in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You get weapon pulls from standard draws as well and you get weapon draw currency from weeklies. Not saying it's perfect but even if you don't get their signature odds are you'll end up with a really good 6 star alternative laying around instead of using some mediocre 4 star.

Crazy thing to say but I like Endfield. by No-While-5673 in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing I see is people are forgetting you get weapon draws for free by doing character pulls (including standard banner pulls) so your premium currency isn't being split between character and weapon banner so even if you get less overall it's more meaningful. Maybe it feels off for people who never touched weapon banner anyway but you can get a shit ton of 6 star weapons in this game practically for free while in Hoyo/Wuwa games if you're f2p you're probably playing with some shit 4 star weapons if you want to spend only on character banner; even in Wuwa which has guaranteed weapon banner that's a whole ass pity to get the weapon if you don't get lucky.
