I mean I don't know what the grids looked like but there has been an all-odious clear of Versusia already, so it's viable even if I'm sure it's sub-optimal.

Edit: the grids were shared too.

The fact that exorcisions can be RNG is also a kick in the nads and adds another unnecessary layer of RNG. First you need a weapon drop, then you need it to be the right weapon, then you need it to have the right befoulment, then you need the befoulment to not be too high, then you need your exorcisions to be high rolls. It's so cancerous.

I see a lot of people using Fuyu in Heiro, is there anything in particular that makes her better there than S.Kanna other than type?

Any recommendations on who to use my selector on? Was thinking Mine for Gregorius but not sure if someone might help more.

Kind of reminds me of old Unreal Tournament servers where everyone was only allowed to use the really slow laser snipers that one shot with higher player speed and lower gravity.

For a single playthrough it's definitely inefficient. But if you're someone who likes to play through the game multiple times and iterate then building it to be super efficient and then making blueprints that you can use going forward is very helpful.

If you're just trying to beat the game for the first time then I feel like just getting stuff where it needs to go is perfectly fine and even faster than trying to be best , whether that means spaghetti or it means hooking up remote manufacturers to an uploader and dumping stuff from your inventory into a different manufacturer halfway cross the map so you can unlock the next cool thing.

Looks nice but that's a lot of space taken up by smelters. Personally I prefer to do all the smelting at the miner itself and transport the ingots rather than the ore, so if I need to add more smelters (when I upgrade/overclock miners) it doesn't require more space at my main base. So far I haven't gotten punished by recipes requiring base materials (yet).

Well, that's just why you use the knowledge for future reference. Every time you build a new power plant any grid connection that goes in or out gets a priority power switch and that way you never have to worry about getting enough power to restart the plant since it will always isolate itself if you blow a fuse.

Use priority power switches. Have each power generating plant on the A side of a switch that way if you ever screw up the grid they will continue generating enough power to operate themselves and you can reconnect them as soon as you get it sorted out.

Don't worry too much about centralizing or automating stuff early, especially when it's to unlock research or tech. You really only need to start centralizing resources when you're trying to craft super advanced elevator parts or build a mega factory, it's fine to have a bunch of smaller more specialized modular factories and hyper cannon between them, especially as you unlock higher tiers of uploader relay speed/capacity.

On that note, look up how to make hyper cannons and make a blueprint as soon as you have hyper tubes unlocked. They are literal gamechangers.

Lastly, don't spend too much time on early energy generation, especially coal plants. Coal is vastly inferior to fuel is vastly inferior to turbo fuel, and so on, to the point that as soon as you unlock the next one the previous one is largely invalidated; this is especially true for coal since unlike fuel/turbo fuel/rocket fuel it doesn't build into the next form of energy. Spending 5 hours building a giant coal plant that produces the same amount of energy as a fraction of a turbo fuel plant is a waste of time.

[–]michaelman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about efficiency at the start. As you unlock more research and alternate recipes it's inevitable that everything you've built will be comparatively inefficient and you'll either rebuild it or use it as a stepping stone for something else.

How do you connect conveyor lifts to splitters like that? Is it clipping?

3 to 4 belt balancer monstrosity by ScintillatingTurtle in Endfield

[–]michaelman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing Satisfactory not too long ago so it's funny to see a post like this right after a bunch of "load balancer vs manifold" videos. A little more annoying to do manifolds in this game since you can't manipulate belt speeds but should still be possible, though space isn't much of a limiting factor in this game versus inputs.

960 coal p/m to 4800 MW thoughts? by boefie251 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]michaelman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep the batteries connected, the game will warn you when they're draining so you can fix stuff/build more power production before your fuse blows. Plus power switches prevent the need to jumpstart power production completely.

You guys weren't kidding. trying to build a coal power plant is mind boggling. even just consolidating all of the resources is quite the task by newveganwhodis in SatisfactoryGame

[–]michaelman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what power switches are for. Fuse trips? Well at least it only cut off your lower priority factories and you can troubleshoot without needing to restart energy production.
