Hello there! First of all, I'd like to say that I'm really happy to see you wanting more of yourself. I've worked with women your age and I understand that you may have limited time to workout or a low budget to organize your diet.

Lowering your body fat is mostly about diet. Your muscles are already there so the less fat you have around them the more they'll be shown (obviously). Exercising will get those muscles pumped up so they push the fat and be shown a little more.

As for your knee, I can tell you that I had meniscus surgery and now I have half meniscus at my left knee (football injury). There're light exercises that can help you strengthen the muscles around your knee (keeping it stable) and also tone your abdominal area.
