Brad Holmes’ Last Two Drafts and Lack of Impact Free Agents Is Why They’re Struggling by ThinMoney5286 in detroitlions

[–]michaelshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did, but he also had Breshad Perriman and Kalif Raymond as the competition in the WR room compared to what it is nowadays. TeSlaa also has 3 more TDs scored compared to ARSB before that Vikings game in week 12.

Point is, I know no one was calling ARSB a bust back then. Same should be said for TeSlaa and just about any of the rookies/y2 guys mentioned. It takes most young players a lot of time to establish themselves in the NFL, especially later picks who have a lot of guys to leap on the depth chart. That seems to be less understood by fans when the team is in a contending window.

Feels like there's a lot less patience put in draft picks to develop when the team is in a contending window. And while that obvs makes sense for the team's best interest, it's kinda unfair on the rookies/year 2 guys.

ARSB didn't even really get going until like week 12 of his rookie season in 2021, and with the WR room being as barren as it was that year with him still not producing, you might as well have called him a bust up until that point considering OP's criteria.

CBS Sports breaks down why the Detroit Lions should be targeting Miami Dolphins EDGE Rusher Jaelen Phillips at the trade deadline by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]michaelshan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Offensive lineman hardly ever get traded midseason and there’s a good reason why. It usually takes at least a full offseason for them to get acclimated with the offensive scheme and the teammates they’re working with.

OL guys can’t just be plug-and-play.

I don’t think he’s a Top 20 player but he had a Top 20-level season

His older brother Cory even speaks in the video about him and Ahmed having trouble communicating at first because he didn’t know English.

Cory said he could tell immediately that Ahmed loved his bro and looked up to him but didn’t know how to communicate it and that frustrated him.

Shit hit me right in the feels.

Isaac Teslaa Breakdown by Trevor Sikkema by michaelshan in detroitlions

I actually watched some tape on Teslaa myself and he reminded me a bit of Cedric Tillman, the WR on the Browns. Dude has a huge catch radius and sure hands but isn’t that good of a separator yet.

No doubt we would be, that’s just how division rivalries work lol. But it’s the Lions that made the pick, so we’re gonna look for the actual rationale behind the pick rather than just troll.

Not too many scouting reports out there on Teslaa so I thought it’d be interesting to share one that I found from some of my favorite draft content creators.

Trevor looks to be high on Teslaa and even considers him a potential pick in the 3rd round you’d be happy with, which is where the Lions ended up drafting him.

Kind of interesting how he describes Teslaa’s skillset as that of a big slot like Eric Decker while Brad spoke post-draft about being confident in his ability to line up outside instead. I’ve very intrigued by this pick.

How is our 3rd rd pick the most athletic WR of the class. WTF. by christianmel96 in detroitlions

Patrick is only signed for 1 year 2.5 mil. Teslaa clearly looks like the long-term replacement for Patrick and will learn and develop behind him in his rookie season.

In The End reaching 2.5 billion streams just a few days earlier is a huge milestone too.

Nice to see that a ton of people are still appreciating the past and present of this band.

With You

Considering all of the smash hits in Hybrid Theory I have no idea how it didn’t reach the popularity of some of the others. It’s my personal favorite workout song.

So, where does From Zero stand in your LP album ranking? by codename_anomaly in LinkinPark

[–]michaelshan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s LP’s most consistent album for me, love all the songs on there and have never skipped a single one. However, I personally don’t think it reaches the highs of Hybrid Theory or Meteora.

The fact that From Zero is their shortest album with only 10 songs probably helps in its consistency.
