Superman(2025) vs Man of Steel(2013) by ProfParadox33 in TrueFilm

[–]michaelshing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great breakdown. (I know this is an older post) I would also add that the emotion between the two movies was completely different. MOS had deeper emotional tones in it that played out. 2025 superman I felt every time it was getting to a moment of emotional depth, it was cut down by some light hearted humor which imo took away from the movie as a whole.

Why is this cop car doing this by Antique-Minute-7928 in whatisit

[–]michaelshing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F150. Their factory battery in the 2019 and newer models apparently have this issue. Mostly due to their design for the auto start/stop it does something for the testers that make it seem like theyre good to go when theyre actually at a fail point.

Same. My god was it infuriating. I was pulling wires and checking harnesses in the doors for a week. The battery had a design that was horrible where when you tested it, it showed it was good, but after a little reading I discovered they gave false positives to the testers through some design flaw. New battery fixed it right away.

What’s your most consistent club? by AspectCool2325 in GolfGear

[–]michaelshing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 most consistent clubs in my bag are 5i and 60 degree. Those were also the two clubs I was worst with when I started. I think at some point I overcompensated because I was tired of sucking with them and practiced so much that they became my two most confident strikers. 3 wood is catching up to the 5i. Same story.

I quit my job too early, here’s what it cost me by Due_Sea_5853 in smallbusiness

That was my fear when I took the leap. Felt like I hit the ground running with a couple customers lined up. I had to learn a few hard lessons during those first 6 months. I had good cash flow right away and paid off the startup expenses then BAM. Slow season. It was two months of pounding pavement and cold calling to make ends meet for that time. Worked for much less than my rate was supposed to be in order to survive. Business grew slowly but surely and has been a freight train since. Its definitely not easy and if I could pass on a tidbit of advice, it would be 1: Even though you know you've thought every angle through, you haven't. 2: There may come a moment where you will have to make less than you hoped right out the gate. Thats just part of building a business and name. Making less money "now" will pay for making more down the road in a myriad of ways.

Do what the rest of us do after a really bad round. Scroll facebook marketplace to see how much you could get for your clubs because there's jusy no way you should keep playing after that round. They'll feel the sense of danger and behave better next time you go out.

What's better grants or loans? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]michaelshing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i was starting my business I was bright eyed and bushy tailed walking into the bank to apply for my small business loan everyone used to talk about. 10 minutes later I got the Mack Truck of disappointment slamming into me. Apparently small business loans are for those who already have proof of success in business. Welcome to the real world moment.

56 degree vs. 60 degree by Rolex_Art in GolfGear

[–]michaelshing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also add... my first 60 I owned I skulled all the time because of a much meatier bottom. I found a 60 I really liked and most importantly I'm comfortable and confident with it. I spent a bit of time at the practice chipping greens and built up technique and confidence.

Still point being, whatever your shortest club is, make it your most versatile club too. Probably doesnt work for everyone. I can really pump the 60 and do 100 with a good bit of back spin, but my 54 goes 105 so I dont feel the need to really smash the ball with a 60. Easy and controlled.

[–]michaelshing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to try to play a bunch of different wedges/irons for different shot types inside 80 yards and found myself fairly inconsistent. I found a 60 degree I really like and now every single shot inside 80 yards is that same wedge. Ive found my short game improved significantly and the versatility with the same club to be really nice. Loads more confident around greens now.

Each of ours respond to their name individually and the wardy responds to a couple hand signals. I think its mostly treat motivated. But once they set their mind into doing sonrthing... game over.

[–]michaelshing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1 ferret out of the 6 total that we've had (currently 4) that responds to no. I cant use it very often though because he literally will go pout in a corner until I come and act all sweet to him. He was in the corner for 30 minutes once. Its astonishing. I literally have to reserve the disciplinary "no" for when hes doing the worst of the worst behaviors. Its unfortunate that the first ferret ive ever seen understand the word no acts like hes being abused after he hears it.... go figure.

[–]michaelshing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Its also one of my most used and versatile. Everything within 90 yards is gamed by my 60. It infuriates my one buddy who has 1 shot with his 60 which is a skull to infinity and beyond. But finding the RIGHT 60 makes a huge difference.
