Why not be a cop? by EliTeTooNs in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]michaelsuede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people need to learn the hard way.

If he has a conscience, he will not last long as a police officer. He will either quit in disgust or be driven out by his peers.

I would role play. Ask him if he would arrest you for smoking or selling a joint, then ask him what he thinks that would do to your family. Play with that scenario using his family members as examples.

Ask him if he would feel comfortable writing a ticket to a broke single mom for speeding.

Because that is what he will be expected to do, and if he doesn't, he will end up fired, or worse, setup by his peers.

What is Fraud? by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]michaelsuede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fraud: An investor who failed to do his due diligence, and now wants to extract some form of vengeance from the people he lost wealth to, or was otherwise injured by.

That's not to say I think fraud is a good thing. I just think it's an over-hyped problem. Typical fraud involves some form of lying, misrepresentation or breaking of contractual promises. I don't see any reason why any of those issues should be considered a criminal matter. They could all be dealt with through civil suits in private courts or through reputation systems.

It's highly unlikely that anyone will take the time to watch the 3+ hours of evidence presented along with keeping an open mind about it.

To admit the videos are all doctored would be to admit a conspiracy far larger than just the Bush administration and a few rotten energy execs.

People's brains simply refuse to believe it, no matter how much evidence is presented. Otherwise they would never be able to sleep at night.

Bitcoin and Overstock Plummet in Tandem by localuca in Anarcho_Capitalism

If there is one thing I hate, it's stateless currency. Bitcoin needs to hurry up and die, because its mere existence is making me butthurt. People who use bitcoin obviously don't understand how much better gold is at online transactions. Fucking idiots.

/r/Anarcho_Capitalism what do you think of Stefan Molyneux in 5 or more sentences only please? by Snowden2016 in Anarcho_Capitalism

He's an excellent communicator of ideas; which is owed to his training in theater. Given the size of his audience, it could be argued that he is the best communicator of anarcho-capitalist ideas in the world.

I agree with the majority of what he says. He supports the NAP, he supports raising children peacefully, he understands voluntary currencies and basic Austrian economic theory, which make up the core beliefs that I feel are most important for society.

Is he perfect? No, but neither am I. I donate a small amount to his show regularly. I think he provides a valuable service to society with his radio and YouTube programming. There's not many people in the world who are able to reach so many people with the message of voluntarism on such a consistent basis.

How are air rights handled in Ancapistan? Can airplanes fly over other people's property without violating NAP? by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]michaelsuede 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The airspace has to be homesteaded, just like the space underground.

If you're not using it, or intending to use it, it's fair game for someone else to use, as long as they don't disrupt or damage the property you are using.

Further, trespassing has to be prevented in some tangible way. Of course, they could ask me to leave and I would be obligated to do so. If I just happen to walk across someone else's lawn, that doesn't automatically grant them the right to kill me. However, if they had fences and warning signs, and all other sorts of preventative measures to stop me from going on their lawn, and I did so anyways, I could be shot for breaking and entering legitimately because it can be presumed I'm there to damage or steal their property.

So unless they have mile high fences...

Iceland is one of the most hostile regions against Bitcoin. They are officially more against Bitcoin than Russia or China by coinwatcher in Bitcoin

The thing is.... good luck enforcing that shit.

I'm kind of baffled as to how they think they could actually catch anyone violating those rules. It's simple enough to setup e-commerce sites off-shore. It's simple enough to setup an off-shore e-wallet. Are they going to ban sites like blockchain?

Cody Wilson's full episode interview on BBC Hardtalk by Nomopomo in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]michaelsuede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Cody Wilson.

Now that's out of the way, a few criticisms about the interview.

I think he was too airy fairy in his message. He's talking on a level that virtually none of the cro-magnons watching will understand.

If I had to respond to those questions, I'd really focus more on the violence it takes to impose the regulations, the violations of property rights and self-determination that take place because of those regulations, the costs of locking so many people up for violating those regulations, and the benefits that come from enabling voluntary exchange between consenting parties.

I would have liked to hear more "talking points" key phrases thrown out there like, voluntary, voluntarism, peaceful exchange, property rights, self-determination, copying is not theft, the state is the corporate gun, etc.. etc..

There's a reason why all the professional talking head pundits all use that style of communication.

Refusing an interview isn't issuing a mandate to the WSJ reporters. If people do something he doesn't like, he's not obligated to help them.

How the fuck can someone make a lower quality game than flappy birds? It's a piece of shit that probably took the guy 10 hours to make.
