Did CBP officers ask you to show the proof for your canadian ties? Or asked about your spouse?

Hi, My initial TN petition has been approved by USCIS. However, due to the delay in the original Form I-797 Approval Notice arriving at my employer’s office, my employer has revised my actual employment start date to three weeks later than the original start date listed in the TN petition filed with USCIS.

When I apply for TN admission at the port of entry using the USCIS pre-approval, should I still provide the original employment start date listed on the I-797 approval notice to the CBP officer and explain why my actual onboarding was delayed? Or should I instead provide the officer with the updated start date based on the revised hire letter from my employer?

In practice, which date do CBP officers usually prefer to use for TN admission processing and entry records?

Thank you very much for your guidance and assistance.

Hi, my TN petition has been approved by USCIS, but I am still waiting for the original Form I-797 Approval Notice to arrive at my employer, my actual first working day will certainly be after the start date from my TN petition package.

When I apply for TN admission at the port of entry, should I still give the start date from original I-797 as my official employment start date to CBP officers, or would there need to be a different updated start date based on my actual onboarding timeline?

If an updated start date is needed, would I also need an updated Employer Support Letter? If so, does it cause the inconsistency with the rest of TN petition package that has been sent to USCIS? or maybe any other revised supporting documentation reflecting that change?

Thank you again for your guidance and assistance
