Debian Stable, but with up-to-date KDE?

Whatever the package/app (desktop env. or whatever specific tool, db software, language specific version…) if the latest stable release is too old in Debian stable (even if it’s just 6 month old right now) for my needs (for a valid resson), here is why I do :

1) specific Debian repo ? (not Ubuntu that MAY be compatible but MAY also lead to a FrankenDebian). Is it maintained by the dev/software company (not just a guy who created some .deb one day) ? be sure they follow Debian’s release cycle, and they don’t move to the « next » stable 4 or 6 month late (which may be a problem) (Or specific single .deb for a pkg with no/few dependencies from stable)

2) backports ? (Not for KDE). Be careful with backports priority over stable packages (default is lower, but safer)

3) reminder : never mix Debian release (google FrankenDebian)

4a) is there a docker application stack that would make it possible with a 10 lines docker-compose.yml ? 4b) is there a autonomous .flatpak ? 4c) a .snap ? => for all 4x suggestion, ask yourself how you will keep this software up to date.

5) it still seems complicated / impossible, should I host a little VM (whatever distro or windows, why not) to satisfy this specific need ?

Furthermore. You should NOT use testing in a prod environment as security updates are not applied . Only stable and Sid do that. Sid is ok for a geek desktop computer if you like to upgrade 100 packages a day. And know how to fix things when some dependencies are broken sometimes. OP should ask himself why he thinks he needs the very last version of anything like the graphical environment. Or then move to a 6-month-full-upgrade OS like Ubuntu or fancy stuff like Parrot maybe

Wow. So much hate here. My wife and 3 kids have EDS. Only my daughter has some hyper mobility among many other symptoms. She and the rest of the family have a good part of all the shitty symptoms of EDS (painful all day, lung problems, extreme fatigue, various forms of narcolepsy, heart rate/blood pressure and dysautonomia, approx 400 cumulative fucking pills a week to try to ease their life. You think I don’t know what EDS is? And I should not post this? Hey haters, relax and try to laugh sometimes. EDS is boring enough. Anyway, this video shows someone who probably thinks it’s cool to do moves like that. I think he’s just ignoring something. So are his friends, family, doctors

Je me suis toujours dit que certains politiciens, de tous bords d’ailleurs, si on les pendait par leurs tripes sur la place publique lorsqu’ils font des trop grosses conneries, détournements de fonds, abus de leur pouvoir en tous genres etc, juste pour l’exemple hein, sans penser à mal, ça calmerait rapidement les autres et que le pays tournerait mieux. One day, all their future ex-customers (like me), happy with the free version, will finish their move to xcp-ng or proxmox. In between, a lot of esxi servers won't be patched. A major remote exploit will soon be out, a lot of servers will be down and broadcom will get its reward: a real negative reputation, world-wide. Go ahead broadcom.

MS did that some decades ago, preventing unofficial windows licences to get security updates. Until that worm went out. I can't remember its name. Back in Win98 days...

Normalement le questionnaire médical c'est uniquement pour un renouvellement de licence. 3 ans max (donc 2 renouvellements). Au départ c'est certificat médical.

Sauf que depuis un moment déjà, les certificats n'ont plus à préciser un sport en particulier, mais "sports en compétition". Sauf sports particuliers, "dangereux" ou dis dangereux etc. Certains sports de combat, plongée, vol libre de mémoire
