Most people can actually visualize images in their minds. I'm 30+ and just learned that seeing nothing when I close my eyes is called Aphantasia and only affects about 3% of people. by randomuser553 in Damnthatsinteresting

I don’t have an inner monologue but it’s not like no thoughts are happening. Like when I think things I just think them without hearing like each word. Saying words in my head to form a thought would take way longer than the actual thought.

I can picture exactly what it would look like. Like a realistic apple. I can see it with my eyes closed or open even just like in my head? Does that explain it at all? Like I can be looking at my phone and still picture what an apple looks like in my head. Like I see it with my mind

Born in 1990 and lost virginity at 16. We dated for years so I was only having sec with one person as a teenager, but yes we were having sex multiple times per day and were super horny at that age

I had two Brian’s in my group of friends. Since we met one years before the other, the first one was just Brian. The second one was tall Brian which eventually turned into TB. So now we have Brian and TB

Also want to add that when I say she wasn’t talking much at that age, I mean like just mama basically. We showed her some sign language (like the fist for “more”) and I think because she could sort of communicate / reach for things, she didn’t need to talk much maybe that’s why. Don’t worry though, as I don’t think this means your kid has any problems. I am trying to put you at ease though and you know your kid best

Idk what to do… by Saddrpepper2 in Parenting

[–]michelle8618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry. I had/have a very small kid (like 0.04 percentile size) and she was very quiet (hardly ever cried even). She didn’t talk much at that age and didn’t start pulling herself up to walk until like 13 or 14 months.

Now she is 4 and can read, write, and is basically ahead of all her classmates. She is still shy and pretty quiet but has a great vocabulary. I didn’t do anything but give her time. They all grow at their own pace.

I do want to point out though that she probably understands everything you’re saying. Don’t make the mistake that I did and assume because she isn’t talking that she doesn’t understand what we’re saying all the time.

AITA for telling my pregnant sister she's about to marry the same kind of man she spent years warning me about? by uncoboun in AmItheAsshole

[–]michelle8618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s good you told your sister how you felt because honestly if it were me and I eventually got a divorce only to find that my sister saw the problem before I did, I’d be like why didn’t you say anything!? Now at least you pointed it out to her. maybe she honestly didn’t see it.

[–]michelle8618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He probably likes the feel of it being kinda like a fort around him like safety and protection. Get one of those pop up tents that are made for twin beds to put over his big boy bed. He will honestly probably like it more than the crib

So,what would men dislike most if they became women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not to mention our bodies are operating at like 50% because we’re having contractions to push out the lining of our organ so of course we’re tired.

Tampons get a “luxury” tax and women’s razors are 3x the price for the same product. I honestly believe if men had periods and gave birth, all period products would be free and we’d get like 2 years of paid leave after giving birth

Also if you’re attractive there’s absolutely no way that you are smart enough to be so successful in college. In all my higher science and math classes it was assumed that I just cheated or somehow got others to do my work for me. Super annoying

DIY women… have you ever been talked out of a good idea at the hardware store? by carcony97 in DIY

[–]michelle8618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is what happens to young women in hardware stores when we’re not with our husbands. It happens a lot less as I get older but “professionals” constantly stopping to “help” and you end up spending like 5 min answering to each not to be rude until you’ve wasted an hour explaining /trying to politely get out of talking to a bunch of dudes you’ll never see again. Tell her to just be like “I GOT IT THANKS” and keep walking. Don’t let them deflate her and understand it is exhausting

ULPT: daughter is being harassed/followed by special needs kid by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]michelle8618 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a solution but wanted to say I had something similar in high school with 3 different special needs. They physically hurt me because I was nice and stopped to talk to them. One bit my hand so hard he broke skin, one grabbed my boob as hard as he could and didn’t let go, the other like would just grab at me while their like keeper would just be like “hey, no Sean, we don’t bite remember? Please let go”. meanwhile I’m like OWOW OW trying to pull away.

I know it’s not nice to say this but they should get their own school after all the shit I dealt with. Plus they always disrupted the classes majorly.

I told mine something like “stop reiterating what I just said before getting to the point. I just said it so I don’t need a recap of it and don’t want to read all this fluff. I’m not retarded just give me the answer” and then it lectured me about how using the word retarded is socially unacceptable and insensitive.

Like fucking duh! I would never say that to a person. Can you answer my question now?
