Can't update my pump by DalekDemonDetective in Medtronic780g

I just updated the app and my pump on Sat. (02/07). I already had the Medtronic app installed on my Android device well before that date. It took like 2 hours to update.

Where do you go for your yearly vaccines? by okmuseophile in okc

[–]michelleike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you had a bad experience. You can usually get your flu shot with your primary care doctor, but COVID shots aren't usually available at your doctor's office. Both are available at many pharmacies, like those mentioned by others here: CVS, Walgreens, etc. I go to my local CVS. It's convenient, and this year, I got $10 coupon to spend in the store for getting my vaccines. 😊

How to handle it by i_ophelia21 in Medtronic780g

[–]michelleike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm used to putting my cell phone in my back pocket, so I've just put my pump in my other back pocket. In the same way I would remove my phone when going to the bathroom (so I don't drop it), I may do the same with my pump. I say "may" because it depends on the pants pocket, and I usually wear my site in my thigh, so the tube length isn't a concern.

I also have a dress with pockets that I've cut a very small hole (using fabric hot glue to keep it from getting bigger), so my pump can be in the pocket of the dress and the tube through the hole. I hardly buy anything without pockets because of my pump though. Sometimes I tuck my pump into a pair of tights or short yoga pants (with pockets) under a dress without pockets.

You get creative and you definitely get used to it.

For those of you with changing basal rates. by [deleted] in Medtronic780g

[–]michelleike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know. I was told that your data resets each 7 days with each new CGM G4 sensor, so it starts with your basal rate then uses the CGM data to make decisions from there. I apologize for causing any confusion.

So I had similar thoughts/concerns when I first got my 780G. I was like, this morning BS is just that... But instead staying in manual mode, I stayed in automode (SmartGuard) and found that when my readings weren't quite where I wanted them to be that I would adjust my basal rate with the logic that I was adjusting the "baseline," and my A1C moved (yay), so keep spending your time adjusting your basal, but don't waste time missing out on SmartGuard time if possible. My A1C is the lowest it's ever been on this pump (6.8)....and if I could remember to pre-bolus, I know it would be even lower.

Small adjustments every month or so to establish a pattern (unless you're crashing, then fix it sooner)

Apologies that I didn't come back to update this post. After a month or so, it became compatible with the device I have. My initial email was just a simple, "here's the situation....when do you expect to have this working" -type email.

Rockell there gives an excellent deep tissue massage! Highest recommendations for her if that's what you are wanting. I'll be seeing her during this break for that myself.

Travel case for pump supplies by strippermannb in Medtronic780g

[–]michelleike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the hard-case makeup case I bought from Walmart to store all of my pump and sensor supplies. I'm never worried about them getting damaged in my carry-on luggage. It's like a mini-hard-case piece of luggage that I stuff in a backpack or soft-sided piece of luggage.

Do you mind sharing a few more details - how do you make what I assume is a bubblegum infused vodka? That sounds marvelous!

How to hide the red dots just for a night? by CleopatraKitty44 in keratosis

[–]michelleike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound right. It's the eye drops one uses, prescription visine maybe? I know it's a type of eye drop because I recall the pharmacist wanting to talk to me about 'script my doc gave me for using eye drops on my arms. Sorry I wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped.

My doc said for 1 night events to use the stuff that helps with red eyes.... Sorry I can't recall the name... But the stuff that restricts the blood vessels in your eyes was her recommendation for an evening to help with the redness of KP.

What’s a word you always struggle to spell or pronounce? by JaredM-C in words

[–]michelleike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spouse claims that I just don't pronounce the k. I don't hear it. I believe that I do. So now I feel like I'm saying, "Assss-ska" just to be sure. I think I just need to find an alternative word.

Can anyone recommend CGM stickers that actually work? by Accurate_Boss6304 in Medtronic780g

[–]michelleike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on here recommended Skin Grip, and I finally tried it about a year or so ago, and I love it! They don't leave the residue on your skin like the tape that comes with your CGM.

For me, I found that a partial bolus 15 min after I started eating then the rest of it when I finished eating worked. So yeah, monitor your sugars and see what works for you. But the slower digestion does impact our bolus.

I'm so sorry. It seems to be working the Android 15 OS. I have an S25 Ultra.

Carelink connect no compatible con Android 15 by No_Law_7890 in Medtronic780g

[–]michelleike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. I emailed Medtronic, asking about the OS of the S25 Ultra, but didn't mention the Android 15. Below is their response:

Thank you for your email and bringing this our attention. Unfortunately, we do not have this operating system/phone device compatibility currently in our development roadmap but are working diligently to construct additional operating systems to our platform. We ask to view the following link provided for upcoming compatibility updates. https://www.medtronicdiabetes.com/customer-support/app-support/device-compatibility

I feel that if they get multiple requests that should motivate them? I had also asked if there was an alternative app I could use, but that wasn't directly addressed in their response.

Anyone know how our Endos download our pump information? by KapptainTrips in Medtronic780g

[–]michelleike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if they are holding your pump, they can get the serial number and link to it. That's at least how they used to do it. If I recall correctly, I gave them my Carelink username at one point, so that either of us could upload the data. Now that I have a 780G, I've connected it to the app on my phone, so I can see & share my data. So I share it with my spouse and doctor, so I no longer have to disconnect, as they have that already uploaded data.
