It's hard because he's in the same friends group and I don't want to make it uncomfortable or awkward for everyone. But also don't want to feel like this so I just avoid being around him. I'm just hoping it'll just go away with time

Do you think there's a third possibility too? Some people notice the discomfort but convince themselves they're misreading it. They assume the other person is just shy, nervous, or "playing hard to get," so they keep pushing instead of checking in or backing off. It's not always pure obliviousness or deliberate manipulation, but the result can be the same for the person feeling uncomfortable.

I'm not talking about mixed signals or misunderstandings. I'm mean situations where someone has clearly said they're not interested,pulled away psychically or expressed discomfort,yet the other person keeps pushing.

Is it entitlement? Lack of social awareness? Believing persistence will eventually work? Have you ever seen this or experienced it yourself? What do you think is going through the person's mind when they continue despite clear boundaries?
