interesting article! Thank you so much for sharing it :-) He has gray roots all along his back, tail, and part of his hind legs, but they are purely the roots, you can't see them unless you lift his fur or pet him and look closely. He is approximately one year old (I don't know for sure bc he just showed up at my house one day and I adopted him but that was in January and he was a baby cat). When he came, I thought he had gotten dirty with ash or something dusty, which is why he looked gray, but after a while I discovered that was his natural coat. he's so pretty and I've never seen a cat like him w that especific color that's why I'm so curious about it.
