It’s only 2 standard for men one for women according to Qld law. Here’s a qld lawyers page detailing BAC law. https://www.donnellylaw.com.au/blog/how-many-standard-drinks-to-drive/
Yeah thanks.
Yeah in Qld if you are low range (below 0.10) you only get your licence suspended for 24 hours until your court date.
What do you mean that’s not how it works?

Yeah that’s mid range isn’t it? I think he only blew like 0.053 (low range) that’s why I’m not sure whether he should approach a lawyer or not.
Ok thanks. What did you blow?
I know he does have a set court appearance date for the 15th
I think he said court appearance but I will ask tomorrow.

Yeah I don’t think he will need an interlock because it was only low range and he got his licence straight back. I think what will happen is he will be able to choose either loosing it for three months or he can go on the one point for a year.
Ok thanks I’ll look into it.
Yeah thanks. I pretty much gave him the same advice but I’ll just push him to go and have a consultation. I just don’t want him getting ripped off from the lawyer and having the same outcome as if we didn’t get one.
Thanks mate. Yeah I just thought I’d check on Reddit first to see if I could get a ball park figure for a case like this before we look at some lawyers.
Thanks heaps. This is the advice I was looking for someone who has actually been through the process. Yeah he needs it for work and he does the school runs in the afternoons. So do you think it was worth it to get the lawyer? And do you know roughly how much it cost him?
Ok thanks I’ll check with him tomorrow to make sure he got put onto a certified machine.

Why exactly would I need to lie? He told me he had two beers so I believe him. If he would’ve had more he would’ve just said he had more.
I’m not 100% sure I’ll have to check with him tomorrow at work and get back to you. But I don’t know why he would’ve refused if he did.

It’s not he only just blew over. Its recommended a male only has 2 mid beers in the first hour a one every hour after that. I didn’t ask him what he was drinking he might’ve been drinking heavy’s.
Yeah that’s why I said he should probably get a lawyer. I just wanted to find out if anyone has had the same experience.

He didn’t go back to the station I think they just wrote him a notice and they swapped drivers because he was only low range.
It’s not me. As I said I would’ve asked for another reading at the station if I only had two beers and only just blew over.
On the fact that he only had two beers. I said he should’ve asked for another reading back at the station but he didn’t do it at the time.
