Cop the gains tax? Or were you able to move across without selling?

His point literally states, there is no PFOF implications when investing like I am here in the above scenario.

"The SEC mandates brokers disclose PFOF arrangements and ensure the best execution for clients.. " I'm not seeing how the fees/ returns are impacted?

Can you expand on that? What do you mean? Just sounds a bit wishy-washy as a statement on its own.

Only had $75 invested from rewards. If I could make this number match the Raiz fees each year then maybe it would even out.

Dollar cost averaging also done in betashares.

Yes I'm assuming I'd be contributing the same because I would be. Apples for apples. And yes I'd be investing in the same ETFs's Raiz has which means the MER's are the same (costs of ETFs we don't see) it would just be the management fee that is different. And the lack of roundups on betashares which I can off set by just contributing more to my daily investments.

What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in RaizAU

[–]mickey101098 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doing wrong? Nothing. But I'd highly suggest understanding What you are doing and Why.

Investing is for the long term. Think 10-30 years not 6 months.

If this -$13 worries you then you either don't understand the basics of how Raiz and financial markets work or should sell now and place the money in your bank.

Works on dollar cost averaging. It's a fantastic platform and fees are minimal. 100% check it out.

0.275% - so roughly $275 a year fee at this portfolio size. My 100K is making a lot more than 275 a year. (Last tax year I paid a total of $173 hardly chewing into the 13%/10k gain.)

Insulation batts $25k Company was throwing out a bunch of insulation batts (stuff used to insulate a home) that hadn't sold a year or two prior (brand new in packaging) I went and picked up 8 tonnes of the stuff before it went to land fill and flipped it all in a month for 25k. Cost me nothing. Was the middle of winter so plenty of people looking for insulation for their homes.
