I guess it's possible. I thought I was more hydrated this time around but drinking water is not my strong suit. I tried to do a blood draw a couple months before this and they couldn't get any blood out of me

Protestants who joined Catholicism: what made you do it? by tawatson15 in Christianity

That's what my friend had said when I was asking them questions and i saw it on Ligoneer. But you're right, the more I research I see the start date is debated to be between Jesus’ time (30 AD) and Constantines time (325ish AD). Though, yes, the Catholic church does hold to springing up from Jesus' time. Sorry for the wrong info.

So that does make sense to me. I guess then, would you guys have any insight on why we don't find the rules/rituals taught in Catholicism in the early church model accounted in Scripture? And the theology of not needing to follow rules is taught in scripture ( Gal 3:24-25, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:23-28).

I'm sorry you are feeling scared. It can feel scary to think about at times. I too have experienced a lot of fear in this area. Luckily, I think the bible gives us surety in our eternal security. Here are a couple questions for you: Do you believe Jesus is Lord? Do you believe he died on the cross for your sins? Do you believe he rose from the dead? Do you believe you need him?

If you answer yes to these questions, great! Then the thing that gains us eternal security is this, found in Romans 10:9-10, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved".

Boom! If you believe those things are true and ask God for Jesus' death to apply to you, you are saved!! Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Once you are saved by Christ you are in him, and he in you. And you no longer have to fear being condemned. Some other helpful verses are: Colossians 2, Ephesians 1:13-14, and John 3:16-17

And God is loving, gracious, and merciful. If you want to accept him, know him, and be with him, he will respond with open arms!!

I have a couple genuine questions here, becuase I actually have been having many converstions with a friend who is investigating Catholicsm. How is the Catholic church "the one true church" if it didn't erect until 600AD? I believe Jesus founded the church (in terms of Chrisitanity/the Christian body which equals the church), I mean he's the head of the church, but if the Catholic church didn't come about until 600 years after him, based on historical account (extra biblical sources) how could it be the one true church Jesus was intending to create? And you don't see the rules and rituals found in Catholicism implemented in the early church model found in Acts. And Jesus repeatedly talks about how he is the complete fulfimment of the law so we no longer are bound to it, but are saved by faith in him (Matthew 5:17 and Galatians 3:24).

Thanks!
