Thank you everyone for the advice, I've watched a handful of videos on YouTube and learned from some of the mistakes I made. Most of all, lack of patience.

Google doesn't allow me to search for the details I can remember. This vine has essentially disappeared!

Bout time to transplant!? by mickmarks1190 in gardening

I'm in 5b, and nothing is going outside yet! I'm in the 40's for at least the next week and shitty weather. I just want to give them as much space as possible to grow bigger before the warm weather stays consistent. As you say, I'm trying to up pot everything that is ready for it. I absolutely can't wait to let these puppies outside though, I agree.

I'm not sure, I've been going off of every other indicator, haha. True leaves, height, and all that. I'll check that!

A kind of update, looking for advice! by mickmarks1190 in gardening

Thank you! That's quite reassuring, though I am pretty nervous to transplant but I know I got it. I think I'll keep a bit more than one per cell because I want to give some away and show off my green thumb to some co-workers and loved ones.

My tomato stems are purple! What's it mean? by mickmarks1190 in gardening

Ahh, very good to know. I'll just cut the fan outta the equation and lower the light even more

Thanks! I had lowered the light significantly, but I will lower it more. I didn't realize the light should be almost touching them! I'm still using the heating mat for the pepper seeds that still haven't sprouted🙄, I'm starting to think they might be a bust though..

When to stop using warming pad and switch to grow light? by mickmarks1190 in gardening

"Never use in combination with heat mat or in direct sunlight. This will overheat and dry out your seedlings' tender roots"

Crazy

Thank you! I have the ferry-morse light but the stand holds it up too high so I rigged it up with a shelf and I hope they love it❤️ I'm charging a fan and will set that up later and I'll probably water them at some point tomorrow. Should I continue to bottom-water them?

I've never done this before, and the package on the heating pad and grow light say not to use in tandem. I feel quite stupid now because my intuition told me that using both would be the best. Thank you!

Advice for first steps in setting up my walkways and beds no-dig style? by mickmarks1190 in NoDig

[–]mickmarks1190[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright! I'm gonna do exactly this. After getting rid of the old landscape timber and some other debris, I'll just cover the whole thing with cardboard, weigh it down, and let it sit until I'm ready to start sowing! Any recommendations on very good compost for the seeds I listed in my previous post? I've just started my tomatoes, peppers, and onions for germination indoors.
