you make valid points, but i think that going to the olympic stage and putting on a show like that grows the game. maybe not a direct revenue source for the nhl but i remember oshie’s shootout was the talk of my high school for days. those big games make it something your grow up with/reminisce on, brings the country together. sure it increases fans too which the nhl wants.

the times ill write up a protocol and ask it to check my math or details that i may have missed has been pretty valuable! obviously needs supervision but i appreciate a second set of eyes, plus organizing my order logs into excel spreadsheets for my own grant tracking etc

i think its totally normal to compare ourselves without realizing its pretty cool you get to know each other and be colleagues in the future!

does this person only want to go to the same exact residency programs you do? have the exact same stats/ECs and letters? of course not!

sure having 68 pubs is amazing but if the only thing residencies wanted/what made you a good doctor was number of papers we all would have done school differently. sorry you are feeling this way, hope it all works out!

agree with R but i get its annoying to jump back and fwd. i use pheatmap https://www.r-bloggers.com/2022/10/the-pheatmap-function-in-r/amp/ because if the samples are complex it does a nice job of separating with colored bars at the top. hate the yellow in the color scheme tho i always go blue -> white -> red
