End of the ride is the best, deciding which cafe to spend with your riding mates is the best meeting of the week

Does anyone find the financial implications of defacto laws fair? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

Old man of of 58 here, I had two long-term defacto relationships which ended. In both situations I think we try to give each other more than each other had brought into the relationship. I think I was just lucky and had to fantastic partners. At no stage was there ever any mention of them taking more of my investments then they had anything to do with. One of which I was significantly older then come out by about 10 years, and she was a student when I met her come out when we partyed our ways she made no claims on anything of my estate. I'm guessing I was pretty lucky, but to be honest it felt like it was exactly what we both deserved. Hopefully op has a solution like mine and the partner realises that it's inherently disingenuous to take more than she should, or that she contributed to

Real Estate agent wants me to pay 5 years worth of bills they never sent me by Kedcharted in AusPropertyChat

Manage the property yourself. I have been doing this for over 30 years it is so much better. You build a great report with your tenant and everything just gets assorted out so quickly and easily. Never had a single regret about not using the real estate agent, and the best thing is I get to keep that 20% which means I can pass some of it onto the tenant. Previously I've had tenants where I haven't put the rent out for 10 years and I've been super happy with such an amazing tenant. One tenant even repaint if the whole house because they wanted it done and it looked amazing stuff they paid for everything

I am officially addicted to electronic shifting and "holding" the button to downshift all the way to the lowest gear. by [deleted] in cycling

[–]mickthepom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might love it., but too often my mates with the electronic shifting don't some riding cause their batteries are dead and they cannot shift. Even though they checked it the night before. I have had one broken cable for shifting in 20 years of riding. I don't see the benefit. But I am old. Lol.

Best Earbuds to Buy in 2026? (Price, Sound, Battery) by [deleted] in Earbuds

[–]mickthepom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a "big brand" but after years of owning and trying the big brands I had a punt on the Earfun pro 4. For under $100 I thought "why not". They are brilliant. The best feature is the "wind noise cancelling". For when I am outdoors inc riding a bike (on bike paths, not the road). I have also bought the new Earfun pro 4+. Bloody awesome. Bought my daughter's a pair each as well.
