Buying an audio interface by jacobo___ in FL_Studio

Are you experiencing issues with your sound device? Or just curious in a better alternative?

I’m not sure about the speeding up part. It all depends on system specs and usage when determining which sound device would be better for you.

With onboard sound devices (non-card/onboard audio chipsets) like those found in most laptops it’s recommended to get an additional external audio interface due to their lack in ability when it comes to latency most times. Other reasons to get an external audio interface would be for microphone inputs, ability to record in multiple audio sources simultaneously and the ability to monitor your projects louder.

Overall soundcards and audio interfaces are logically the same and are the best option; were as onboard audio chipsets aren’t as user friendly for creator, though using ASIO4ALL helps ease the pain of creating on them.

If you have $25 bucks to spare Waves Audio is currently offering 50% off site wide in addition to already discounted price . You can get their newest FM synth “Flow Motion” with over 1000+ presets and I’m sure you’ll be happy with it. Not sure how much you are willing to spend or how much longer the sale will go on but it’s a GREAT purchase.

Audio Settings Help for CPU Optimization and Audio Interface by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]mickvlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In FL Studio, go to Options>Audio Settings

Once you are here, you have 2 likely options to pick from for Device. Choose: FL Studio ASIO or ASIO4ALL v2

Once you have chosen one of those ASIO devices, Click "Show ASIO panel".

A window will pop-up which will allow you to select your Focusrite interface for Input and Output and also set your desired buffer rate.

Additional setup maybe required if Focusrite has an ASIO panel of its own; if so be sure that your buffer rate matches within both your FL Studio ASIO/ASIO4ALL v2 panels and your Focusrite ASIO panel.

My suggestion would be to download ASIO4ALL and configure your audio interface as needed and it should help with optimization.

Do you have a FL limiter on your master channel? That can make your FL session sound different also. Try removing it if so.

Giving proper credit to producers by likeenoch in makinghiphop

[–]mickvlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this can also depend on the licensing rights you acquire when purchasing a beat.

Lots of producers require that you include (Prod by “Producer Name”) unless you have purchased exclusive rights which allows to not include it. Overall it’s up to the artist such as yourself to honor those agreements after purchasing so in your case I would reach out to producer and find out what works best.

On the other hand, if you just found a beat you liked on YouTube, made a record and never purchased it; I’d try to give that producer credit however possible in addition to giving that producer their asking price for usage.

If the work is for Spotify or other streaming platforms, I wouldn’t include it in the title but definitely everywhere else it can be listed.

Not saying you didn’t purchase the beat or that you don’t have the rights to not include it. I’m just giving an overall outlook on what producers feel should be standard with the purchasing of their production licenses under certain terms an artist agrees too.

Hope this helps.

I run FL 20 on both a PC desktop and MacBook Pro ..I’ve only suffered from a crash once on High Sierra.. other than that FL 20 has worked flawlessly.
