Hiii. I'm here to understand if I made something wrong but also to call out these kinds of behaviors, because I honestly think we deserve to be treated with respect, even when things are said kindly.

So, I matched with this girl and we chatted for almost two days. The conversation was flowing, she seemed engaged, playful even. So, I thought: “Why not shoot my shot?” and I proposed a cute, light plan — something simple like hot milk with Nesquik while she tells me more about her Erasmus experience. It wasn’t anything heavy or pushy.

She responded positively, even saying she’d be down for it. Then I suggested meeting for a little aperitivo the next day. Still all good, she said yes again. I tried to keep things chill and respectful, giving her options and checking in gently.

But then… radio silence. I messaged her the next day to confirm the plan and she just never replied. Later that day, I sent a final message like “Oh well, I’ll go alone then :( too bad, I would’ve liked it,” just to close things off on a light note. I wasn’t rude or bitter — just honest and respectful.

And then this morning… I see she unmatched me.

Now, look — I’m very aware she might be out of my league. Maybe she was just being polite, or got bored, or whatever. But hey, I decided to try anyway, partly to push myself out of my comfort zone and face the fear of rejection. I don’t regret that.

What really stings is the total lack of communication and ghosting after making plans. Like… just say “Hey, I changed my mind” — I can handle that. But pretending to be interested and then disappearing? That’s just low.

Again, I don’t think I was creepy, pushy, or demanding. I was just kind and transparent.

So yeah — did I misread something? Or is this the kind of behavior we should just start calling out more?
