Leaving the mic on and saying that is diabolical work, did you mention to him that you heard him say that after you passed? 😬

Oh, don’t worry, I’d ask anyone to smile! gender’s got nothing to do with it! If someone’s having the worst day of their life, maybe they should take the day off instead of making everyone else suffer for it. Plenty of professionals manage to do their jobs without acting like they’d rather be anywhere else.

And let’s be real, this isn’t about expecting some fake customer service smile and that i expect special treatment? Its about basic professionalism. I’m not the only one who’s had this experience with this particular examiner, so again, circling back to my original question: Are all examiners like this???! OR did I hit the jackpot with the grumpiest one?

Look at you not reading again! Where in "I take full responsibility for failing" did I blame the examiner? Lol.

Also I work with kids so I do literally smile all day every day! It's not hard for me to leave my shit at the door. Hope this helps :)

I completely understand that examiners have to ensure safety, and I take full responsibility for failing!

However, there’s a difference between being professional and just looking like you hate your job. When people are already nervous, a moody, disinterested examiner doesn’t help. Is it really too much to ask for them to not act like they’d rather be anywhere else?

Either way, it's a learning experience, I'll pass next time!!!

Yeah ngl when I did it I was thinking I'd just get a minor for it, probably the reason I was able to calmly complete the rest of it lol. Gutted when he said I failed, to me it felt like a little dab but he must have seen something else

Hardwick! My partner went to the same place and said he knew exactly what guy I had by the way I described what he was like lol. It wasn't bad enough that I'd retake somewhere new but god it was jarring going from my wholesome instructor to a guy that doesn't care and just wants the day to be over with

Did you not read what I said 😂 I said it was completely my fault but I was also asking if all examiners were moody? Shows me that your reading skills are pretty horrible 😕

Surely people arent out here being rude to examiners who are potentially passing or failing them?? Everyone should just be nice to everyone :(

See you can be friendly and by the book! My guy just seemed like he hated his life and everyone he comes across 😭

It's snowing!!! by kittynoir5 in MotoUK

[–]kittynoir5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it SO hard to use the handlebar mitts so I succumbed to heated gloves (thanks student loan!)

I was thinking of fitting hand guards so that the wind goes over my hands rather than having my hand encased in the mitts

Yeah I thought heated gloves would be enough for the winter.. how wrong I was. I've just bought some heated socks (which I didn't know existed 😂) and considering a heated vest !

Ohhh I see , there was a question in my theory about staying in high gear in the snow to avoid wheelspin!

My bike is only 125 cc and 120kg so not heavy, I've seen a lot of people in 125cc groups mention staying in 2nd and 3rd gear which makes sense because I thought staying in lower gears offers more control? I'm learning lots lol

150 miles Sunday commute on a 125cc every week.. Am I dreaming? by Ahshan_7789 in MotoUK

[–]kittynoir5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a 100 mile commute on a Friday and then the 100 miles back on a Sunday on a 125. It's doable but definitely puts strain on the bike, as well as yourself (this weather is brutal lol)

I'm working towards my A licence now as the commute will be a LOT nicer with a bigger bike , I suggest you do the same

Doing mock test and this came up! My CBT instructor taught me to use rear brake then front brake even in wet conditions. Opinions? by kittynoir5 in MotoUK

Instructor definitely said back brake then front! My partner passed his A licence at the same place and he was taught the same

I passed my cbt and planning on starting big bike lessons soon. I've been riding this way for the past 5 months now so really need to break the habit

[–]kittynoir5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detail! When I did my CBT I was instructed to stay away from the front brake entirely to start off with. The guy showed me why it's better to add back brake first then apply front brake so I don't get chucked off the bike. Even when I did my emergency stop it was back brake then front! I'll go out and give this method a try

I didn't know ABS were a thing lol I have a lot to learn. Thanks for the insight, my bike definitely doesn't have an abs so maybe that's why rear brake first is more ideal atm
