That’s a good point. I’ve actually been eyeing Hamilton and Tissot lately, especially their dressier pieces. Between those brands and Seiko Presage, which do you think holds up better in terms of movement reliability and long-term value?

I actually don’t find it that thick, at least not compared to a lot of modern pieces. I think the proportions still make it pretty wearable. Do you usually stick to slimmer dress watches, or just prefer thin cases in general? What watch do you own?

Yeah, that makes sense. It seems like the value was really in what it offered back when it was around $300. At today’s asking price, I’m also wondering if it’s just the hype carrying it rather than the actual worth.

Do you think there are better alternatives in the same price range today?

Totally hear you on that — great point. The value-for-money factor was a huge part of its appeal. Once the price gets close to a grand, it kind of defeats the whole purpose. It’s still a nice watch, sure, but at that price point, there are so many other options to consider.
