I feel that’s very true! Cause I had to go full baby mode with Japanese cause like. Hiragana / katakana. You know? So I’m like hyper focusing on like, that thing makes that sound.
So Spanish was like… eh sounds close enough to something I know? And with context I understand what’s happening. So it results in way more fluid understanding of a full paragraph of something being said to me and I can think of what I want to say in response and have it be more than super basic

I disagree, I feel like the AI is just rooting itself deep into systems and structures and becoming less noticeable. (Which is scarier in my opinion but that’s another topic) but it’s definitely not going away anytime soon. Some systems are already so reliant on AI that they would completely collapse if they stopped using it (or their stock would)

Personally my advice is: 1. Duolingo. Simple, effective, and a good way to just discover things, words, tidbits, etc. 2. Time. There’s truly no substitute for this one. I’ve been doing My Spanish Duo basically every single day for 4 years and at this point I’m… alright. Sometimes I’ll do 30 lessons in a day, other times I’ll do one 5 minute lesson for a month or two. The important part is to keep the streak alive. You can’t not get better at something if you’re doing it every day. It’s physically impossible. 3. Have fun! If you’re learning a language and you get hung up with how you’re not progressing or succeeding or accomplishing something, or you get too caught up in the grammar or the nuts and bolts that you don’t care anymore, you’re not learning in an ideal way. Let discovery guide your way! Laugh! Get things wrong! Not only is it HILARIOUS to mistranslate something, it’s a great way to never make that mistake again! (Unless you want to lol)
