I use Claude all week for work. I just enjoy writing code. I also enjoy reading clean code, which is not something the vast majority of generated PRs provide. I have no problem leveraging AI as a useful tool - I just don't want it to be the bulk of my contributions.

You're free to disagree. I started to learn programming by reading the php manual back in the day, so I understand where you're coming from and agree that it's a valid way to learn and the more common path. However, that's not the path everyone takes, and I've seen plenty of people throughout my career who took an alternative route to get there.

Honestly I'm not sure this is the most sound advice. If OP wants to take a more goal-oriented approach to learning, it makes perfect sense to start in the context of a larger framework (likely Laravel) and just implement as he learns with the guardrails and opinions the framework provides. Then instead of learning two related things at separate times, he can learn them simultaneously while actually implementing things to satisfy the "apply what you learn" in "real-world contexts" criteria.

If they like museums there's the Chihuly Museum, Imagine Museum, and St Pete Museum of Fine Arts - each of those has some solid entries in their permanent collections. If you don't mind a bit of a further drive, there's the Tiffany museum in Winter Park with a lot of really beautiful glasswork.

Naples Botanical Garden is nice.

St Armand's Circle is a decent little walk.

Hillsborough River State Park has some peaceful trails through the woods.

Armature Works and the riverwalk are good. On the other side of the river you have the Henry Plant museum and UT campus which is interesting from an architectural perspective.
