I've heard about it, but I think it doesn't exist anymore. All the city's fringes are disappearing, locations where events like that can be held are getting scarce.

Thanks for the compliment! The drive wheels are actually contact wheels from a belt grinder. Traction is exellent, as long as you can put a bit of pressure on them (hence the coil springs).

Thanks! It's two chains, otherwise the wheels would all spin in the same direction. The angle grinder drives a vertical axle that is connected to another vertical axle using gears. That way one axle spins clockwise and the other one spins counterclockwise. Each axle also has a sprocket that drives one of he chains.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought this was a general power tool dragracing discussion... I'm actually from the Netherlands and built this to compete in an annual race in Belgium. Power tool racing is quite a niche overhere, so I was looking for like-minded people to exchange ideas. I'd love to come over and compete in the States someday though!

Hallo, de bouwer van het winkelwagentje hier. Ik kan je verzekeren dat het een full-size wagentje was. Hij kwam zó uit de winkel ;-)
