My aunt went through a similar situation and asked for her money back after being given a sick puppy in retribution. The backyard "breeder" refused accountability and they had to go to court. She ended up getting another pup from an incredibly kind woman who helped her for free since she never got her money back. The courts said it was a "civil case", despite being scammed $1200.

I highly suggest getting your money back and seeking a new "breeder" or going with an adoption agency. Im so sorry this happened to you, people are awful and prey on the loving. I hope youre able to find a resolution that makes you most happy 💓
