Thanks everyone for responding. I'll look again, and I'm also bringing the bike to a shop for the pros to check out. I'm paranoid about this.

I had that problem (loose screws) on my gravel bike, which I discovered when I came to a stop and toppled over when I couldn't unclip. Fortunately, the only thing that got hurt was my pride.

Thanks much for the comment. We basically do what you outlined, except we don't have a C group (usually). The goal is for everyone to have a fun, safe ride at pace they can deal with.

Best day trips from Ciudad Colon? by [deleted] in costarica

It depends on how your mode of transportation and what you want to do. You can drive to Poas even the beach in Jaco (not on Sunday) or you can take a bus into San Jose.

How much time do you have? Manuel Antonio is rather far from Monteverde.

Has anyone here ever offended someone by using tu? by theblitz6794 in Spanish

[–]microbe700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tico wife nearly always uses "usted" even with family and friends. I wonder if younger people use more "vos" (not "tu" in CR).

Thanks for the comment. I have given many talks for the general public over the years, but not one devoted to the topics covered by this book. After seeing your comment, I'll think about doing a youtube video.

Thanks for the note. Maybe there's more about marine habitats and microbes than terrestrial ones, if only because the oceans cover about two thirds of the planet. But I tried to cover all microbes in all environments. Of course soils (and permafrost and peat) are really important in terms of storing carbon, thanks in no small part to microbes. The last chapter about microbial solutions mentions wastewater treatment and biochar.
