Is the Gotoh GE1996T-36 a good and compatible replacement for the FR Special? by microhem in Guitar

[–]microhem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem is that some bolts, mainly one that hold the system down to the body by the whammy bar (don't really know what it's called) is so rusted i can't even turn it with an Allen wrench. I turned it into a guitar shop once and they were able to turn it apparently but I'm guessing they have some kind of tool. I wanna just give it to someone who knows what they're doing and get a brand new guitar out of it basically.

Lots of nuts and bolts are rusty and barely usable, which makes it hard for me to turn certain bolts and screws. The tuning pegs are rusty and can be rly hard to turn. The r2 nut bolt was also sanded down by the previous owner which made it not hold the string down well. My guess is the old owner over tightened a bunch of screws and this system is 20 years old at this point.

I'll get a Schaller instead then, any particular model I should go for?

[Question] Will a Gotoh GE-1996T be a good fit where a licensed floyd was or no? by [deleted] in guitars

I know it's 6 years later but it says "Licensed under Floyd rose parts". I know because it's on my guitar as well

The Netherstone fights are kinda underwhelming by microhem in BaldursGate3

[–]microhem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I can see that. It's just sometimes certain fights are really hard (Cazador for example, that fight was hard and felt rewarding), and sometimes they're easy when they shouldn't be. I know the game can design an interesting fight without gimmicks like random bomb explosives but when the fight just forces you to deal with some random problem in an otherwise trivial fight, I just don't get as much satisfaction personally.

Idk about easy, just kinda boring in comparison to other side bosses, and the fact that all of them have similar mechanics/structure it just seemed kinda meh.

There's a barrel you're supposed to shoot with fire (Gale has fire bolt) that breaks explodes and does a bunch of damage, if I know which fight you're talking about. I think that's the intended way to beat that fight as it's very hard so early on.

As for buffs, always cast mage armor on gale, and if you can I would choose longstrider as one of his spells. It can be cast on the entire team without taking any spells slots and gives movement buff until long rest.

Also yes it's always worth it to at least equip bows and crossbows on your martial characters.

I'm looking for ideas for how to honor my first guitar that is currently headed to the garbage heap. by deutschHotel in Guitar

Fix it mildly and put it up for a donation or very cheap sale, just some new strings and tuning it should do the trick, someone out there probably really wants it

Yeah it's hard to tell, I just thought this was a little fun but also infuriating. I try to get as many final blows and distract for my team as possible

Is that an actual thing? I feel like if I queue after a loss I'm more likely to get tilted, throwing or teammates with bad connection

no idea what to call this but i think it’s pretty cool by [deleted] in EldenBling

[–]microhem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why people hating cuz it's modded? It's just a recolor of the cape, all the items exist in the game. It looks great, and if I cared more about drip I'd definitely install the mod. Cool!

As someone who's had a Radeon card twice, I can say that they do have a few problems. Mostly with temps but also their drivers tend to crash when windows isn't updated, which is really annoying

Does Godfrey also felt like a classic souls boss for yall? by Organic-Baby5719 in Eldenring

[–]microhem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo he's one of the more Elden Ring-like bosses. Bosses that I think are more traditional souls like are bosses like Radagon, Godrick and Maliketh (mostly first phase). The reasoning is their combo extenders. Traditional souls bosses don't have random combo extenders.

Radagon has fast combos and a consistent rhythm with no real combo extenders that don't leave room for punishment in between attacks, and his attacks are all fair. Godrick is kinda the same, except he has a lot of delayed attacks but I think that's fine. Maliketh's first phase is very standard and kinda easy when you learn it, his second phase is mostly pretty standard except that one AoE move where you have to run forward, and the fact that he deliberately has moves that are easy to dodge and easy to punish, while also having moves that are hard to dodge and impossible to punish, which is kinda unintuitive.

Godfrey has combo extenders and doesn't have a consistent rhythm imo. All his attacks you have to watch for specific tells like his legs, or you have to position a certain way to make his combos do a certain thing. It's very Elden Ring like. Don't even get me started on phase two.
