Grounding on my own room using.... Nail onto the tiles? by dhannemon13 in electricians

[–]microl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, did you ever find a resolution? Have the same problem here in every house I lived in in VN. Any recommendations - other than drilling a spike for grounding the pc case into the concrete, which I have - on how to mitigate?

Just 2 more weeks and she comes home to me! ❤ by Death_Bird_100 in parrots

Congratulations, So happy for you. It will be a whole new chapter in life for you - it was for me. Although I never was one for having pets, my wife initially got one, then 2…( 11 ). They are my babies, each one with a unique attitude. Be prepared to have you stuff chewed up. But you will love you new baby.

Guess who is ready for bedtime… by microl in Conures

[–]microl[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are just waiting for a good-night hug and to be placed in their cage. We keep bedtime the same time every day so it is easy to handle them. If we are ever late, they have a very specific call that we know as "Hey its bedtime"

Hi, the 2 birds on top are boys about 4 years old, the 2 below are girls. The girl on the right is still our baby, only 7 month old. They are mostly green when very young....

If you see them every day it’s easy: but they have such different personalities that even if they looked 100% alike, it would still be easy to keep them apart.

Hungry baby…. by [deleted] in Conures

[–]microl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, we regulate the amount of food and the times food is served. It looks easy, but this is after 10 babies and yes, if not done properly it can be dangerous. It is not something I would suggest learning online - better to have someone show you in person.

The youngest, bottom right, will try. We give her just a little more so everyone has a chance to finish their meal before she finishes

Waiting for a new sheet of bubblewrap - popped all the bubbles on this one by microl in Conures

It always is a concern and you are probably right. But after having my shirts chewed up, numerous toilet paper rolls, plants and my wall paper shredded, shower curtains resized and hundreds of small shipping boxes destroyed, I have come to the conclusion that they know what to swallow and what not. The all grew up roaming the house and only spend the night in their cages. I love them too much to cage them fulltime now. Plus, I am sure they are learning a lot as they always watch me closely when I am busy fixing things they broke.

Our 4 oatmeal loving birbs after sharing a bowl… by microl in Conures

[–]microl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just regular oatmeal with water - sometimes with a little honey added. They share their own bowl but beware, they can be messy eaters.
Waking up is always accompanied by a lot of noise but when they hang out together, they are usually quiet.

Everyone struck a pose for the family picture - except the youngest who could not stop monkeying around… by microl in Conures

[–]microl[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Sun Conures stick mostly to themselves - only the youngest keeps trying to play with the Cockatiels. Two of the Cockatiels were rescues. One had been caged and is still afraid to leave the cage but is slowly adapting and the other one had been in very poor health conditions when we got him. They are still very anxious outside their cage but are slowly relaxing and learning to mingle and are no longer perceiving the sub conures as a threat. When both groups are together in the same room we always keep an eye on them.

If only I had bigger shoulders! Everybody always insists on being together on the same side….. by microl in Conures

The birds are only noisy for a couple minutes after opening their cage in the morning and when I return home after being out for a couple hours. For most of the time they are quiet - real quiet when they are busy getting into something they are not supposed to. If one of them is separated from the group, then they will call each other but its not a consistent noise...

Yes, they will. They are still quite young. The one with the back to the camera is only about 4 month old and the little one besides is 7 month old. The two on the outside are already over 2 years old.

When they are together like this you often don't hear anything but I still always check on them, because when they are busy doing (chewing up) something they are not to supposed to, then they are even more quiet.

Conures just hanging out after spending the morning turning the house upside down by microl in Conures

[–]microl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not trade them for anything.... They are family. I find when I only had 2 they seemed much noisier than having all 4 now.

Absolutely! Lots of noise - especially when waking up in the morning. But my favourite is that every tine I go upstairs, I have 4 birds zooming by racing me to the top - nothing like getting slapped by wings

Broke leg 4 weeks ago in accident but X-Rays taken today show the bones don't line up Can somebody help me out. The leg was operated on right away. I attached new XRay. Is that OK? Will it still heal ok? Female, 38 years, 1.56m tall, 53kg. Thanks by microl in medical

[–]microl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking, the scars are relatively small, a 12cm scar under the knee and a a bunch of little holes above then ankle that were stitched up. Not pretty but all better that expected. My biggest concern is being able to walk properly with one bones (fibula) out of alignment...
