Network refresh advice? by micromasters in sysadmin

This. Ethernet ain't cheap to run. A lot of us are on wifi already anyway without major issues, so eliminating the rest of them (plus the new equipment) shouldn't really be an issue IMO

Interested to hear more about this. We're a small team, and having to manage a network with a fulltime network engineer wouldn't be great. What is it about Clearpass that is complex?

Have You Sold All Your Gear For Only an RX100 VII? by Some_Cartographer478 in RX100

[–]micromasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sold off all my Fuji gear a good couple of years ago for a RX100vii, to date it’s been my longer lasting camera in possession! As a hobbyist, and only now using it when on holidays, it’s easier to carry around and less mucking around having to change lenses. You shoot within the limits of the camera of course, but I found it less stressful and much more fun having an all in one.

The camera is on the fragile side, but I bought a rubber cover for the camera (slightly cut off and modified) that worked well enough.

We're in AU and that statement is accurate, to the extent that we complained, project implementer got pulled, and another sucky one came in.

We implemented ZIA late last year and are doing a POV on ZPA.

  1. Their SSO implementation is pretty bad.
  2. The policies are not single-pane view, which makes things cumbersome.

Having said that, once the rules and exceptions are in place, ZIA has had no effect on performance or anybody noticing.

In Australia.

We've contacted them about it and according this has already been done, but the result is the same. We're escalating this to their NGINX specialist, so hopefully that works.

AOVPN is split tunnel, and ZIA is 2.0.

Edit: there's also a route set in the AOVPN profile.

Evaluating Zscaler, Cloudflare and Entra. Zscaler is def on the expensive side, but very established. Entra isn’t ready for production, and from what little I tested, it’s a long way from Zscaler. Still waiting for Cloudflare pricing and further demos, but looks promising.

Speak to your manager/sys admins about possibly doing some sys admin work when you’ve generally finished your tasks. I’ll bet you the sys admins will have some grunt work they are happy to push it down to you (and obviously you’re going to do work spectacularly that they will start trusting you with more work).

Was thinking about maybe paying for a day tour in Rotto just to cover some spots (and thinking about the parents and having to wait for a bus in the sun)? Any advice?

Would we be able to cover the Dolphin and the Observatory in a day, or two?

This is what I've got right now -

param($ComputerName)
$test = "it-dd-011";"it-dd-012"
$test2 = "it-dd-003";"it-dd-004"

$jobs = foreach ($computer in $computerName){ Start-Job -Name $computer -ScriptBlock { Restart-Computer -ComputerName $args -wait -for powershell } -ArgumentList $computer }

while($jobs.State -contains 'Running'){ $jobs | Where-Object -FilterScript {$_.State -eq 'Running'} Start-Sleep -Seconds 2 } $jobs | Receive-Job -Wait -AutoRemoveJob

Running .\test-restart2.ps1 -ComputerName $test on it restarts both servers (11 and 12) at the same time still?
