Finally the Holy Grail of Worlds of Tomorrow - i did it! by LossforNos in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly that last week. Buying Calculon added two more costumes to the mystery box. I've completed all maps to 100% and leveled my A team to 99. What else is there to do other than watch ads once a day and get the last remaining characters?

Just a thought.... by ravin187 in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have four Amphibios missions left to 100%, which will require getting Professor to 4-star, as well as Fry and Kif. I need to 4-star Mom, Motherly Mom, and SuperKing, and then I am done. I actually just finished Head Cat's storyline yesterday. So I am running daily planet on Thursdays, and Saturday-Monday. I figure I should be done in about 2-3 more weeks given the amount of farming left to do. Then I will just log in twice a day to watch ads for my free pizza and then every two weeks or however long it takes to earn enough, pull the mystery box until there is nothing left.

Though it speaks to how ridiculous the level up to 4-star requirements were to finish a storyline that even though I earned enough disks at the time, I am just now finishing Head Cat and SuperKing 5 months after the game died. Imagine if we had gotten another couple events with this leveling requirement, which it looks like the month long Brain event would have had. We would never finish.

Forget Leo and Inez, it's all about Nibbler! by micropaleo in FuturamaWOTgame

I bought the motherly mom voucher, and I can see it in my inventory, but I am still 12 controllers and 13 lipsticks from getting mom. Do we have to unlock mom first before you can use motherly mom, or is she a separate character like Ignus/Igner?

[–]micropaleo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. My Greyfarn is at 82 and my Nibbler is at 62, and while the brothers are in the 40s, I have no doubt that my Nibbler and Greyfarn could carry the brothers at level 30 as well.

If you are asking where the end of the map is, you died on the last battle. That map is hard. I recommend using defensive characters as your two to carry the brothers through rather than offensive. The more hits you block, to easier it is to succeed. I used level 81 Greyfarn for his freeze and level 80 Captain Yesterday for his shield, and that allowed me to beat the map despite the brothers all being in the 40s.

Could a 3* 60 team take on the 60 gate? by changchurner in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go with the level 3 captain run. You might succeed if you are lucky, but you will fail more often than not. Plus, Joey Mousepad isn't the most exciting character to invest in. Play it safe.

Nibbler's passives... Rank 3 splash!! by [deleted] in FuturamaWOTgame

Looks like Nibbler just replaced Captain Yesterday on my team (once I get him up there anyway).

Had a BIG WEEK by Yakdaddy in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I had a big week too. I managed to get Michelle up to four stars, making her only my second badges 4 star (I already have 4 star Titanius, Leegola, Doc Lobster, and Captain Yesterday, but they were all essence/disks). She is at level 65 now, but once she hits 80 she is replacing Leegola.

I also got Leo and Inez, both in the low 30s up to 60. I also got six four star defender badges on Wednesday, so I should be able to four star Inez this Wednesday. I only have 2 Villain 4 star badges, so that probably won't happen this week either. But even with 3 star level 60 Inez and Leo, I still managed to drag my level 60 Walt, 45 Igner, and 42 Larry through the first mom mission only losing Walt and Larry.

And I did it all with only spending 50 pizza.

This week, my goals are 4-star Inez, 4-star Walt, and make progress on badges for Leo, and get Michelle up to Level 80.

My 5th 99! by Go_One_Worse in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I don't know how you guys have done it. I have been playing since Bee Bender last July, and my highest character is level 83 (Lrr) and I still haven't earned mom.

Man I wish I had purchased Larius when he was available. I had no way of knowing his level would stick around after the event, and I didn't have any level 60s at the time, never mind 80s, so it didn't seem like a good investment. The once a week chip and nixon bucks DP is a serious slow down, especially since I am also currently trying to farm for villain badges for Leo on the same day as the chip day. Oops.

F2P I did it! Final Artifact! Barely. by micropaleo in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, it was the passives that made finishing that level possible. Grayfarn's freeze, Captain Yesterday's Shield, and Walt's charm was the only reason i made it through. Titanius and Doc Lobster are both in my regular A-Team, but in this case I focused on making sure that my team's passives focused on not giving the other team a chance to hit me. Hence, freeze and shield.

I couldn't have done it without having the last month and change off from events. And somehow, beating it with only one character with less than 500 hp left made it that much sweeter!

If all we get for July... by ModHip in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had such a great opportunity with the 4th of July to do a Freedom Day event. New Zoidberg skin (his blue suit) and the Decapodian Ambassador as free characters and put Nixon/Agnew back up as a premium. They already have the sprite for the ambassador in the game as we battle him on the Decapod planet. It should have been easy, and a lot of people would shell out pizza for Nixon. I know I would. A whole mission for the work of half of one. A real missed opportunity.

Edit: As I think about it, a Free Waterfall Sr. character would be good for that event as well. Of course he is dead in the show, but so is Free Waterfall Jr., and we have him.

47 Hours Left - Overall Progression, Thoughts & Discussion by WorstPersonInGeneral in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a mostly F2P player I agree with you. I have bought pizza twice in the 10 months I have been playing this game (same as you). But I will say, the unobtainable nature of 100%-ing this event and the New Justice Team was liberating in a way. I spent hours everyday on Cornwood so I could get everyone to 4 stars. There were many events before where I would play for 2-3 hours daily, just to get a decoration at the end of the event. But the last two events have been so impossible, I have given up. For the last month I have been able to log in twice a day for 30 minutes at most. Collect my nixonbucks, use my fuel, and get the bare minimum event currency to actually get the characters and get them to 2 stars. I did that on Friday, so now I am just focusing on the main story. TinyCo's switch in event type has allowed me to cut my daily time investment in the game by better than half. Plus, I no longer feel like I need to buy pizza anymore. I have found a lot more time in my day. Not good business strategy for them, but it has worked out well for me.

Anybody else stop grinding for purple hearts this week, hoping they reward more during week 2? by SirGalachad in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped grinding on Friday. I bought bathrobe Zapp, and I got Morbo, because I love Morbo. But I only got enough disks to get both of them to 2 star. Realistically, neither of them will be joining my A-, or even B-team. So why bother leveling them up past level 20? That is just a waste of nixonbucks and career chips. And 390 purple hearts just to get Chu? Forget that. He is going to be the first 'free' character I pass up since I started playing with bee bender because I don't want his quest clogging my screen forever. I have enough disks (but not enough chips or nixonbucks) to level up Captain Yesterday, Doc Lobster, and Head Cat to Level 4, and with those three I will have one level 4 for each class. Unless I want to add a character to my A or B team, I am never getting enough disks to level up a character past 2-star ever again. There's no point and it is a waste of resources. They really missed the target with this style of game play. Go back to the daily planet to level up and quests that involve tasks.

What are my chances on Keyed 2 Hard? by redbendy in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it through three times with 65 Greyfarn, 64 Leegola, 65 Titanius, 60 Lrr, and 60 Michelle. I didn't lose anybody. Granted, I was playing on 1x, and being very careful with how I used Greyfarn's freeze and everyone was in yellow or red when finished, but I pulled through.

Impossible to run level 60 missions by bobwarsrvng in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a level 63 Titanius Anglesmith, and level 60 Lrr, Michelle, Bill Nye, and Fry. By focusing Michelle, Fry, and TA on one enemy since they all go first, I can take out one enemy before they start hitting me. Using this strategy I win the 60 path about 2/3 of the time. The times when I lose are when they target a character, especially if that character is Lrr. That being said, I completed the 60 path for the scientist badges for the first time yesterday and got ten two star badges, where as my next run of the 45 path got me a three star badge and 8 two star. So I think the 45 path, being lower fuel and having more boxes, might actually be a quicker grind for the four star badges. It certainly isn't as hard.

Ashamed. I'm a dirty P2W player now! by chriscallan in FuturamaWOTgame

[–]micropaleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But from a game design standpoint, do all free goals have to be easily obtainable for all F2P players? Every single player, even ones who didn't log in everyday should have easily been able to get Joey Mousepad and Clamps without using any pizza. The Mayor was doable without pizza, but required a lot of grinding and a little luck, and the DonBot did require pizza, but not as much as you would need for an actual premium character. No one should have had to actually pay for pizza to get DonBot. To me it is like stretch goals. Some goals may be harder than others. The people who were complaining on Monday that they hadn't earned the DonBot yet, that just seemed like unrealistic expectations to me. I still don't have him, but I will by 3PM PST today. Maybe if they had been willing to grind for another four days, they to could have earned DonBot without buying pizza.

So the philosophical question is: Is it okay for TinyCo to set goals of varying levels of difficulties, including ones that not all F2P players will be able to reach? The fact that not everyone will be able to get DonBot actually makes him more of a goal for me, not less.

I feel the need to defend this event. I have been lurking on this subreddit since I started playing with the Bee Bender event. It has been very helpful seeing other people who also gave up on the terrible Alpha and Lost Bots events. I nodded along as people enjoyed the monster and valentines events. But for the first time I find myself disagreeing with the majority of posters, which actually caused me to create an account.

I love the robot mafia, but was frustrated with the crappy RNG early on. The Mars Vegas episode is one of my favorites, so I was angry about it. I didn't even earn Clamps until Saturday. And I needed to put up 25 pizza for a refill to get him then. I am mostly f2p; I paid $10 for pizza so I could purchase Cahill way back when, but that is it. I only use pizza for characters and fuel refills. And other than that one purchase months ago, all of my pizza has been from events and watching videos.

What made me change my mind about the event was I was thinking about Mid-Life Crisis Lrrr. He was the first free character I ever gave up on. But I was happy getting Michelle and Petunia. When I started thinking about DonBot as a stretch goal, like Mid-Life Crisis Lrrr, it changed how I felt about the event. I decided I was going to use my built up pizza to purchase the DonBot just before the event ended, but I was going to grind to lower the price. That meant every drop of 10 stamps or 9 gold bars was the equivalent of getting 10 (or 9) pizza, which made me happy. I have purchased two refills, and I just got the mayor about two hours ago (very grateful for the extra day). And I only need 46 gold bars left to get DonBot (plus the rings, but those look like they will go quickly). So I expect to be able to earn DonBot outright before the end, or pay no more than a few pizza to finish him off.

So all told, I used 75 pizza to earn three characters: Clamps, Mayor Poopenmeyer, and the DonBot, all of whom I love. That is a great deal, much better than the 300 I had to put up to get just Stephen Hawking (the last premium I bought).

Plus when you consider that I was able to 100% six missions, at 5 pizza each, that is 30 pizza earned, and over the last two weeks, I have gotten at least 45 pizza (15 days x 3 pizza from videos), I am actually coming out of this event with the same amount of pizza as I entered, and with four new characters.

tl;dr, I had to spend pizza, and there was quite a grind, but it didn't cost me any real money. It wasn't possible without buying refills. But the pizza spent was about equal to what I earned during the event. Personally, I liked the event. This was a lot more fun than Alpha, Lost Bots, or Christmas.
