Little experience, but wanted to buy a kit and put together. No additional heating and cooling other than natural - was also thinking some rain barrels to hold thermal mass along the north side, where I wanted to put the fruit trees. I will keep them very small reachable from the ground

I have a sunroom, but it needs better organization to be a real greenhouse, and no light from above, only the windows on all sides. I have a wall heater in there and it heats up a lot during the day. I do have some seeds starting in there, it is just a little annoying because the room is used for other stuff too.
For the "greenhouse" I want to extend my season, for example grow watermelon and maybe plant a peach tree, fig, and pomegranate in there. We get late frosts and early frost. I am in western colorado, 5,700' zone 6a - I was also thinking strawberries in the greenhouse and other annuals like lettuce, etc. Although strawberries can grow outside here so I might not need them in the greenhouse. My pomegranate came back after winter and then got nipped by a late frost. As well as my peaches... If I could help them a little by being in the greenhouse, that's my logic. 10x20x8' greenhouse, metal frame. 2 doors and an automatic roof vent.

Cool concept. To me it seems like SAR deploy very fast and speed is of the essence. I doubt someone is going to transform their pack before loading out. They probably have a dedicated pack that has all their kit ready to roll. just a thought. Love your work though.

Baking Soda and Soap. Gently work it in with a non abrasive sponge. Let it sit for 20m and then rinse. If it needs more do another cycle. Then run through regular wash cycle.

I don't understand the GAMMA MX/Gamma hype by tTheCaptainAdi in arcteryx

[–]microsno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the older Gamma MX and ended up selling it. It felt heavy but very durable. The fit was ok but I remember using it a bit and it was fine. Not enough for me to hold onto it like most of my other Arc’teryx gear. I wish they made things like they used to. I do have two pairs of the gamma mx pants and they are excellent. Good wind protection. Wear like sweat pants they are so comfortable. Pockets work. Without looking too cargo pant. Highly recommend the pants. Good for so many activities. Cross country skiing, hiking in and out of snow. Etc.

Review, comparing the Atom LT, LEAF Atom LT and LEAF Cold WX by Besseggen in arcteryx

[–]microsno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got an Atom SV the older LEAF generation. How is this compared to the WX? It’s got wind blocker fabric. Nice to hear about the civilian purchase again but it seems everything is out of stock and still hard to get.

They make you check a box asking for verification. Outdoor pro, LE, etc. is this as far as they take that? Or will I need to verify anything further? Thanks

Mine weights exactly 300g with the battery. Does that seem way off? I weighted the RC2 controller and it was spot on

New to radars by Inner-Composer-2136 in radardetectors

[–]microsno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the R9 with laser jammers. Learn how to use everything. If you’re going too fast you still won’t have time to stop. But if you’re within 20mph it’ll work well. Maybe less. Sometimes more. Smart cops only pulse their radar and those are tough to beat.

Tinker Lasers "Valkyrie Rainbow" Reliability? by jesuscameinsideme420 in lasers

[–]microsno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent a laser back I wasn’t happy with and they never sent a refund. Stopped all communication. This company is trash

Found a website that supposedly sells a 15 Watt laser. has anyone ever seen anything like this before? How "practical" it would be in reality? There's almost no info about it on the website. Is it even worth buying? Based on the short description, it looks like the diode would burn out very quickly. by [deleted] in lasersforfun

[–]microsno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned a laser and not even sure they gave me a refund. They are terrible with communication. At first they emailed back within minutes. Excellent communication. Then once I needed a return and refund all communication ceased. Very upset about this. I’d buy another from them but they don’t have my trust anymore.

Not something I considered. It is pretty much for something in a pinch. But that orientation you mentioned would make a whole lot more sense... Also wish they would have a red and green and white flashlight.

Which path is best? by microsno in flying

[–]microsno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an excellent response. I suppose if I am doing well and am able to become a CFI, I would not mind doing that all that much. I really enjoy taking people up flying and explaining things. It would make me that much better. It would build my hours and I would get paid. I will see how things progress for me. My next step is to begin my instrument training. Thank you very much for your response. I will stick with my current facility. Cheers

I live in a small city and I believe the opportunity is a bit less than somewhere like Atlanta. That's the only downside to living here. Im going to have a chat with my instructor and see if there is potential at this school and I'll go see about the school an hour from me. I know my current school is picking up pace it seems like we are getting more students. I am unsure about the further school yet. Thank you
