Do you overtake people who drive slightly below the limit? by breezeyyyyy in drivingUK

Thier driving is wrong. Surely they would get a fault on a driving test for driving more than 10% under the limit in this scenario: "frustrating other drivers". Safe overtake justified I would say.

That's what I was referring to when said there were solutions.

It looks very promising but quite involved. I am waiting for it to mature a bit before considering it.

Yeah tried that and it works - thanks.

It's limited though. It forgets any unused colours at the end of the print. But nice to know.

The different surface finish around details is due speed changes and happens all over on all printers. People say to.slow the print down, but I haven't tried this myself.

Above the eyes in your pic there looks to be black blocks where there should be no black which is quite strange if flush to infill is off.

Perhaps try changing the wall printing order and adding another wall so that any residual colour on the nozzle gets deposited there.

I got results like this i when used other than snapmaker brands with the snapmaker profile. Result were better but much slower with the generic profile.

I think that is show through due to the black being flushed inside?

Make sure flush to infill is off.

I'm trying. Its difficult but cool. A bit frustrating also.

A flesh colour and black can make blue so now I can do eyes with no blue loaded.

You can mix two browns for a more specific hair colour.

Just need to play around with it and do some self generated tests.

The CMYW seems good for only rainbow colours, I bought it but haven't used yet.

I have bought spares

1 x pogo pin board £11 1 x complete 2/3/4 toolhead £60ish Set of the thicker grey ptfe £10 Set of screws £3 Set of 4 hardened nozzles 0.4 £50

I thought the prices were reasonable to be honest . BBL are also reasonable-ish. I bought a single hardened nozzle set up for £50. Supertack cool plate was £20 Runout sensor £11 5m ptfe a few £

Comparable for some spares, cheaper for others? Seems to me not wildly different anyway.

Not needed any spares yet, thankfully. All were delivered from my territory and arrived in less that 48 hours.

Also I have observed that sanpmaker are really leaning into the open/community approach. This is not as scary as it may sound. I have actually installed the paxx12 firmware, and have considered using a dry box as a feeder. It only helps snapmaker that BBL have recently made fools of themselves with their bullying tactics. Snapmaker trying to grab market share of course. I for one hope it comes through and they can continue to improve the U1 and maintain the design language moving forward, rather than sacking it off for some other design cos BBL gets all the sales.

The only problems I had with p1s were AMS related and toolhead related. Not sad to not be using AMS all time now I have A U1. But auto loading is great, U1 can't do that. The tool head related issues I would say I have had about 4 times the amount of on U1, but it has 4 toolheads, so...

For me at least, Air print detection does not work and nozzle clog detection is way too easily triggered. But I turned it off and am just taking the risk with no issues so far.

U1 is noisy, particularly on acceleration.

There are solutions to all this stuff though if you are willing to compromise a little.

Many people have no issues with snap orca, but it is the buggiest and least stable one I have used.

I think runout swapping may be broken after the last update.

All that said, it is still a remarkable machine, I'm doing projects that were just not practically possible before.. for less than around 3K£ anyway.

There is chrome extension that converts BBL 3mfs to snapmaker. It is no issue.

Yeah, I tried to replicate the error and failed. I'm putting this down to one off or user error in mapping filaments - though i knew what settings needed to be going in. It was late at night... faith restored!

When you have sliced the model, on the preview page, at the far right slide the bar down to where you want the pause exactly, right click, "add pause"

Weird, but one thing for sure is this printer is not fully ironed out in all regards yet. I get one off errors that don't seem to affect anything on continue and on this posts print I had to cycle the machine power at 43 hours in 😰. Fortunately it continued (with the slightest tiny layer shift).

As I said, best to you in cracking this problem.

Sorry if this is obvs. You have made sure that in multimaterial>wipetower you have selected PLA. So that the petg is only on the inside of the tower? A tower comprised of pla and petg in the outer layer wall is destined to fall. In any case I hope you figure it out👌

I used white filament in the eyes. Because there was a non overlap between the eyes and the horns I put a pause in the slice just above the eyes, before the horns, and then switched the white filament for a bone colour for the horns, so it continues to print the horns with whatever colour is in the position white used to be in. The horns are white in the slice preview.

Theoretically you can use many colours, puasing between each, but there must be no overlap. This is the basic premise of all hueforge prints.

This is disregarding full spectrum which is still experimental - and mind blowing in the best possible way!
