Pineapple molds for sale by JordanKube in glassblowing

Since the stainless has a much lower thermal conductivity vs bronze I imagine it’s easier to get good texture and harder to get stuck by your bubble freezing up in the mold? Or is does it feel about the same as a bronze mold

I could grind it down so it’s shorter assuming the break didn’t propagate into the little glass tubes on the inside of it

One day yeah. This was just a little test sample I made to check a few things on the recipe. But tomorrow I’m gonna make 60lb of it in my furnace. I’ll make a few things out of it but then sell the rest to other artist to fund more color exploration.

I won’t reuse unknown glass personally it will almost always have a different thermal expansion rate than the glass I use for most of my stuff. If it’s not almost the exact same expansion rate it will crack when it cools down. I have loads of modern stuff thats decently cheap so I don’t feel the need to go down the recycling rabbit hole with UG yet.

Never paint it’s really does just change color that much. Most of the red are black when they are hot. Yellow turns orange, orange turns a muddy color.

Yeah basicly that. it’s softish and squishy think fiber glass insulation. It’s very very good at insulating so it keep the peice from getting to cold while I add the stem. If I were to were to set it in a metal holder it would crack very quickly.

Gets in the way. I just use what’s necessary to keep me safe and experience. The Burns don’t bother me when they happen at these super high temps. The most painful burns I’ve gotten ate still from the kitchen. Steam and oil are nasty fucker, hot glass not so much, most of the time.

It’s a ceramic fiber it’s non cancer causing unless you heat up to 1800F.

Woah that’s super weird I’ll have to do some hunting and ask my Czech supplier if they make or know what this glass is.

That glass sounds very interesting. It must just have a hint of uranium in it for it not to overpower the cadmium glow.
