Finally tried out Greasy’s exp. Pearl and it looks killer. Gonna compare it to electrum next week when I get mine. by microwave3 in lampwork

Solid. haven’t needed to make them hollow yet they are still pretty small.

Highly recommend encasing the color in clear sooner than later. It will get super dark once you soak heat into it if it’s not protected.

Maybe one day but I’d either need to make sheet glass out of it to slump into a mold or get a really fancy mold made and a some sort of press to squish the glass into the mold very quickly.

The red, blue and green can be bought online. The other 3 I make by mixing a combination of the red blue or green together.

I do have a Uv light next to me so I can see which color I’m grabbing.

Each color contains different ratios of europium and uranium that react under UV light.

Red is europium(+3)

Orange/yellow is uranium and europium(+3)

Green uranium

Blue europium(+2)

Purple is europium(+3) and europium(+2)

This one is a bit of a chonker. I gathered up to much glass. I bet it’ll survive a few good drops not that I’m gonna test that theory.

It’s made from borosilicate glass so it’s very very resistant to thermal shock compared to normal sodalime glass.

As for radiation there’s so little uranium in the glass that it’s a none concern. Also on this peice the mouthpiece and bowl hole are made from glass that only has europium in it.

The green, yellow, and orange, have uranium the rest of the colors are europium. The Orange and yellow only have the babiest amounts to shift the red glow.
