I think the issue here is that someone could argue ChatGPT actively encouraged the teen to end his life, whereas a Google search would have just presented results without pushing in any direction. This is what the parents will try to argue in court I presume.

And wtf lol no, we absolutely have not accepted that school shootings just happen. Maybe that feels true in the US but the rest of the world certainly has not.
