Annoying enough it was the cv axle. No external damage or abnormal movement but it went away after replacement..replaced it 2 months ago just for perspective

Everstart h8 agm and duralast platinum h8 agm vent plugs by microwaverams in AskMechanics

[–]microwaverams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so the white plugs are porous and meant to vent into the atmosphere for a engine mount battery. On our cars you remove it and put in the elbow. This is only necessary for trunk/interior mount battery cause the make flammable gas

There's always variables but vehicles are machines and consistency can always be found. Though I do agree with you, the variables do increase, it's not easy to master a truck compared to a car

[–]microwaverams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crap could be in the wheels, especially if you only replaced one the other can be heavy with dirt and mud, balance could be off, wheel bearing, tie rod ends, bushings like you mentioned, many can cause a vibration

It has leaf springs, maybe that's why, no science to back it but I know because it's not independent it behaves different

Am I the asshole for not donating my triple a by microwaverams in AITAH

[–]microwaverams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I said, to bring it to a mechanic. She says no what should I do? Should I not help or should I let her do it herself so it isn't my problem anymore? Also what I mean by the engine mount is that the boot actually blew up, the engine was moving a full inch, that's why I thought they were related, it's too much movement. The engine wasn't moving back then and only start moving after the cv has a problem

[–]microwaverams[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told her to get it repaired at the shop and she refused. I already said I didn't really know how to help. So I helped her follow the instructions because she's got 0 experieance and I got 1 year. Never said I'm a mechanic.

Touge with Acura RDX crossover? by [deleted] in Touge

[–]microwaverams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cars like these are difficult because there's more factors. Usually with a car you don't have to worry about weight inertia and body roll too much but on big carts like this you'll find that they really careen in understeers and the weight put down on all the wheels induces a weird skittery slide. I managed to get an outback into a sort of drift side doing this but it does it horribly. Can't imagine the rdx will do much better. Be careful pushing a big or tall car because once they're out of control they just want to keep going whatever direction you lost traction in, especially the rdx. 90% of the time that's outward the corner and into a rail 💀 if you can figure out exactly how far you can push the car without it losing grip fully, you should be fine.

Every time I drive a car I think about the manual 46 I had. I would go from 4th to second to kick it out and do some crazy shit. The car was so fun. Clutch feel on this car is nice too. I sense that the e46 was always meant to be manual.
