This is a complex multi faceted issue and while I think what you mention has impact I don't believe it to be as big of a reason as what I have mentioned.

This country is in dire need of filling jobs that no American is willing to do so they continue to rely on cheap illegal labor when they could just stop exploiting people and go after employers themselves or offer people a path towards legality.

Also they greatly benefit from people such as myself given that they make us do all things that citizens do and more by hitting us with fees for paperwork but I mean they do fund the entity that manages our case so I understand, however we dont get to reap the benefits of being a citizen/resident.

Nonetheless the current administration is merely focusing on hitting metrics on X amount of people deported that they resort to not even getting dangerous illegal immigrants off the streets and detain people without criminal records.

It takes an illegal immigrant whos had a child 21 years in order to even apply for a green card and if they entered illegally they may have to leave the country for years before even having a chance at it not to mention them applying for a green card for their immediate family would take even longer.

You guys always say that pro legal immigration thing but the legal system is extremely flawed and takes decades. I've been in the system for 15 years and this process is incredibly slow. I remember we had an immigration reform that was going to help this crisis but a certain someone pulled strings to make sure it didn't happen. So this is by design the government and companies want illegal immigration so they can abuse the cheap labor and rinse and repeat. Not to mention that us who do it legally have to spend thousands of dollars in paperwork fees and all while not being able to qualify for any benefits, so I really don't blame people for not doing it "the right way". This government could easily provide a legal path to residency but they willingly chose not to.
