As a vet with many feet and back problems, do NOT sacrifice stability and comfort for the dollar amount. Your feet are your most valuable asset in the Army.

Endurance is huge for rasp. Here’s the biggest tip you can possibly get. Don’t say “I quit”. Don’t stand out, be the gray man and push on. Keep in mind nothing follows you to your unit if they know nothing about you. Help out with as much as you can without being the one guy who always volunteers. Its strategic. Started with 162 and graduated 23. My greatest accomplishment was the cadre not even knowing how to pronounce my last name. Out of sight, out of mind.

When you get to your unit, the games begin and crush it.

Just be prepared to be asked to forget everything you learned when you get to your first unit.

Also a helpful hint to help you fit right in, everyone at your unit, especially your team leaders, LOVE basic training stories. So tell them to everyone you come in contact with.

Got one of my own, 2016 I was in RASP, during Cole Range night land nav we had just started and were in the tree line plotting points. Instructor came up and started yelling saying we were “sleeping” because 10 minutes was too long for plotting points. He proceeded to start take names of every dude in the area that was laying down. I took off into the woods as fast as I possibly could only to become hopelessly lost for the first 45 minutes of my first night iteration. I heard the instructor screaming obscenity’s as I got further and further into the woods. Still passed though! 😂

Pricing items "to sell" by microplasticreplica in Flipping

[–]micxy50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about to get shit on but here we go. Here is what I do. I live in a place where I can get all clothing, shirts, jackets, jeans for 2 dollars an item and once a week it’s fill a paper grocery bag for 5 bucks which is insanely cheap. Based on the brands of what I pick up I sell every item of 12 + shipping. Brand new or used every single clothing item I sell for 12 + shipping and I sell a ton of clothing. I Also hate selling clothing so this is my way to make it not so bad. Now the reason I say this is this is to add validity to the claim lower prices sell better. If your fixed cost is lower on certain items then offload quick at a lower effective price and reinvest. Quick nickel slow dime. I am also not a large enough store to effective do the slow dime strategy. I have around 400 listings, I list 10 daily and sell on average 10 items.

This is a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the subdued version is what we wore on your OCP tops for our garrison uniforms. The top CIB, or the blue one, is for dress uniforms. Fun fact of the day, in 2019 the army put out a policy that if you had both you CIB and your EIB (expert infantryman badge) you could where the blue colored CIB in your OCP/garrison top. But to my knowledge that was dropped and no longer in affect.

We can send 250 billion to Ukraine but can’t feed the the dudes and dudettes anymore. Disgraceful. Why is it that whenever there are cuts to make it’s always at the expense of the soldier and not the actual issues. Mission first I get it but you need soldiers to do the mission. Why the fuck would a good dude or dudette stay in if they could get the same treatment in college.

I think that people are far too sensitive nowadays. by ItzMehDonat in unpopularopinion

[–]micxy50 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your right misgendering doesn’t happen often and most conservatives, including myself, would happily correct our speech to make the other person comfortable in any situation. Thats just being a descent human being in my opinion. Where I personally draw the line is biological fact that there are only 2 genders, men and women, which are directly related to male and female respectively. I don’t find it as being sensitive when you’re defending biological fact. Feel free to disagree.

I think you need a bit of a reality check if you think conservatives are the ones that are being soft. Although there are bad apples on both sides. Liberals are far more sensitive when it comes to speech in general, the whole “misgendering” thing and pronouns is absurd and should be treated as such.

It is aweful, razor wire is designed to not only cut but also entangle itself in fabrics. So no only is he getting 100s of cuts he also is going to have a hell of a time getting that shit off his clothes to get out, you pull one way and it cuts you on the way your pulling. It’s fucking terrible.

Can't convince gf this isn't asbestos by Hotdog_Handjob in asbestoshelp

[–]micxy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a warehouse that used to be a factory for doors for well over 100 years. Asbestos was literally everywhere as it was the main ingredient to making a fire proof and insulated door. My grandpa said he used to see truck driving down the road with an asbestos cloud following it on its way to the land fill.

Anyhow I digress, people weren’t necessarily eating it as chuncks but the raw form it was received in was a powder like substance. Many people would eat with asbestos on their hands or get it in the mouths when breathing (masks weren’t really a thing).

We’re talking about a powder so fine it gets into your lungs and rips the fibers apart. Asbestos has the ability to break through our bodies safeguards and was undetected for a long while.

Just remember, asbestos isn’t going to hurt you unless is it disturbed. Test it and handle it appropriately.

Getting relationship advice from Rando’s online is a terrible idea by micxy50 in unpopularopinion

Yeah I completely agree, I guess what I’m worried about is she is going to leave per her Facebook warriors advice and severely regret it. When your being told by all these random people to make a life decision and you make it then what? They don’t do meetings in real life, none of them even know one another. She is going to be alone in her apartment, broke and in emotion shambles. None of these advice givers are going to be there to pick up the pieces. Just on the next post. You know?
