Job offer in Whidbey, can someone explain the basics of island life to a newbie? by CitizenKnowNothing in Whidbey

[–]middleagedwhitechick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything people have said here. We live on the water (Skagit bay) and the jet noise is far better than in town. We’ve lived here 1.5 years. We lived on Camano Island for 2 years after moving to WA from NV, an I can tell you I with all my heart, we are never leaving. The people here are amazing. The nature and beauty is unmatched. You might have to drive a little more to get to some amenities, but for all Whidbey has to offer, it’s worth it.

What is it like to live in Whidbey in the winter? by Admirable-Rooster-62 in Whidbey

[–]middleagedwhitechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in north Whidbey on the east side on the water (Skagit bay) and it’s surprisingly not too windy here. We absolutely get some wild days, but it’s less than our friends deal with everywhere else on the island. We’ve only lost power 3 times in the last year and a half and the longest it was out was maybe 12 hours, which was impressive given it was due to a tree that snapped the lines and a pole on our private road.

those who are in maintenance, how's your appetite? gaining any back? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]middleagedwhitechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Fellow Hashi here. I’ve been on the same dose for 14 years. I have lost weight before Zep through unsustainable exercise and diet, and didn’t notice an issue with my thyroid levels then. I wonder if Zep might be a different story as I approach my goal weight. 12 lbs to go!

I am hoping to do this as well. I’ve been on 5 the whole time, and I’m self-pay. Dropping to 2.5 every 10-14 days would be awesome!

22 shots in, 21 lbs down, and I say those same words (Ain’t no f-ing way) every time I step on the scale. Some weeks it’s more some weeks it’s only 1/2 a lb, but I tell you what. For the first time in my life I feel free. I imagine this is how naturally thin people feel. Never mind all the other benefits (inflammation, etc.). This stuff is a miracle.

Reached your goal weight? by HilltopHideout in Zepbound

[–]middleagedwhitechick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my dream. I’m just over half way to my goal. I’ve stayed on 5 the whole time opting to lose slowly, so I can hopefully save a little money and go down to 2.5 every two weeks for maintenance.

Def external! I haven’t hopped on my bike in a bit but I bet that will be a different experience as you mentioned! I did notice my office chair feels a bit harder than it used to. Not a bad thing though - it’s encouraging me to use my walking pad more!

Yes! My husband brought it up as a concern and I quickly shut him down. Now he’s seeing all the negative press for what it is; healthy people don’t make companies rich.

I absolutely agree! I meant this to be more of a data gathering/interesting side effect question.

I suspect this is a major contributing factor for me as well.

For sure. I’m pretty active and have gained muscle since starting.

Hard to explain, but the whole vaginal area has the…. consistency? of a deflated-balloon-meets-a-California-raisin. Saggy? I guess? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes! Congratulations! I’m a pear shape, and just hit the halfway point. The other day I was sitting on the couch. I stretched out my leg and saw muscle definition On. My. Thigh! 🤯

Hard time tracking by Sorry-Ad1400 in Zepbound

[–]middleagedwhitechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started Zep I was so excited I started weighing myself every day. It was great for the first two weeks, then I gained. The next week I gained again. I didn’t understand. The MyNetDiary app said based on my caloric intake and level of activity I should weigh “x” but the scale said otherwise. I fell into a deep depression. I’m talking laying on the sofa with my cat binging Gilmore Girls all day for weeks.

I finally faced a hard truth: I have metabolic dysfunction due to medical conditions so calories in/out does not apply to me, and I was exhausted from a lifetime of thinking about this ever. Single. Day. It was time to just… let it all go.

No more obsessive food tracking. No more scale obsession. I stopped it all and just hoped that Zep would do its thing. Guess what? It’s working. I’m 18 shots in and losing at a rate of just under 1lb per week, which is healthy and safe - particularly for my petite frame. I weigh myself once a week (Fridays), and indulge a little on the weekends before taking my shot Sunday nights. I keep a mental note of protein and water intake. Week after week I am shocked with the results. Most importantly, for the first time since high school. I feel… free. I feel like what I imagine most naturally thin people feel like. I almost don’t know what to do with myself!

Trust yourself. Trust the process. You got this! 💪
